E3 2023 Takes Another Blow as Ubisoft Cancels Participation

Ubisoft is another publisher that will not officially appear at E3 2023.

Ubisoft will not appear at E3 2023. Contrary to what the French publisher announced last month, the company has decided to hold a separate show in Los Angeles with an episode of Ubisoft Forward, scheduled for June 12.

In a statement to Video Games Chronicle nothing more was said, at least in terms of specific information. We don't know why Ubisoft "changed direction" (as company officials put it). For the time being, we also do know neither the position of the organizers of E3 2023 on the matter, nor the schedule of the French company's event.

Publisher of the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry serues is another industry giant that will not appear at this year's edition of the largest trade fair for game enthusiasts. For a long time we have known that the event will most likely lack Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony.

Another thing is that the company organizing the event, ReedPop, is in no hurry to reveal the list of participants. So it's possible that other well-known publishers such as Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Devolver Digital and Square Enix will appear at E3 2023.

It should also be noted that gamers may simply not care. Ubisoft's show will still take place during (though not as part of) the fair, and presumably so will this year's EA Play Live show.
