Yesterday (i.e. June 26) the Steam Next Fest came to an end. Throughout the past week, users of Valve's platform had the chance to experience demos of upcoming titles. As part of the event, the developers put at our disposal fragments of such works as Lies of P, Gord, House Flipper 2 or The Invincible. This, however, is just a small part of the hundreds (1,200 to be exact) of demos available during the Steam festival.

Now that the event has come to an end, it's time for analysis and summaries. This has been taken care of by Gamediscover, which has compiled all the highlights from Steam Next Fest.

What aspect will we focus on? Obviously the most important, that is, the games that enjoyed the most popularity during the event. Here, however, it is necessary to distinguish several categories in which individual titles dominated. The first was the largest increase in the number of followers on Steam.

The largest increase in the number of fallowers

From the data (chart below) published by Gamediscover, we learned that the multiplayer TPP action game Warhaven dominated the field, which collected 3725 additional followers during the Steam Next Fest. In second place was the puzzle game Viewfinder (3322). The podium was closed by the action RPG - Lies of P with a score of 2962 followers gained.

The highest number of active players at the same time (CCU)

Wondering what demos enjoyed the highest number of active players at one time? This question was also answered. The king of this category turned out to be the open-world RPG - The Matchless KungFu. The demo of HuanMos Game's title was played by 4489 people at the hottest moment. The second position went to Warhaven (3945). In turn, the third place with a score of 2820 players went to the tactical RPG Reverse Collapse. Interestingly, this demo was only slightly ahead of House Flipper 2 (2814).

Top 20 game demos based on the total number of unique players

However, it is worth noting that the CCU does not always accurately reflect the popularity of a particular game. Therefore, Valve has published a list of the top 20 game demos based on the number of unique players. And so: being in fifth place in the CCU ranking Lies of P "jumped" to the first position in the ranking of unique players. It was immediately followed by House Flipper 2 (fourth place CCU). The top three was closed by Warhaven (second position in terms of the highest simultaneous number of active players).

The biggest jump in this category compared to CCU was recorded by the aforementioned Viewfinder, cat adventure game Little Kitty, Big City and the charming game about trains called Station to Station.

You probably noticed that the aforementioned The Invincible from Starward Industries did not dominate the above rankings. However, this does not mean that the game based on Lem's prose is not popular. On the contrary, in June alone, the game gained more than 100,000 entries on the Steam wishlist. In turn, within 7 days, the new demo was downloaded 50 thousand times (via StockWatch [in Polish]).

But back to Steam Next Fest. What are your impressions after this year's event? Which game stole your hearts? Or maybe some game disappointed you? Let us know in the comments.
