Wartales Introduces Companion Confessions and Flogging

Early access game Wartales received another big update.

Community Update #3 - the most important changes

The patch is called Community Update #3 and it brings a lot of new features.

1. A confession system has been introduced, enabling characters to share their feelings. The decisions we make in response have a significant impact on the future of a given mercenary and their relationship with companions.
2. This interacts with the second major innovation in the form of a relationship system between characters. The second major innovation is the relationship system, which enables characters to make friends with their comrades-in-arms, fall in love, and create conflicts that can even lead to murders within the group.
3. Significant changes have been made to the mechanics of capturing enemies. Captives have gained the ability to escape. We can reduce the risk of this happening by ordering one of the mercenaries to guard the prisoner or tie him to a pillory. We can also force captured warriors to work, motivating them by whip.
4. The starting options have been expanded. Now, among other things, they enable us to select traits for our companions.
5. Game Over mechanics improved - when we run out of torches we are only removed from dungeons. Key allies can now die during expeditions, but they can be saved by using the instant retreat option.
6. Many new features have been added. Additionally, some of them are now hidden and only revealed under certain circumstances.
7. Improved gameplay balance and camp creation mechanics.
8. Many bugs have been fixed.

The developers are already planning the next update in the Community Update series, but first we'll get a patch with new content and co-op mode.

Let's recall that Wartales debuted on December 1 in Steam Early Access. The game is available only on PC.
