Verdansk 84 Now in Warzone, Devs Claim We'll Never Return to the Old Map

Yesterday, an event took place in Call of Duty: Warzone, which pompously kicked off Season 3 of Actvision's shooter. Starting today, players moved to the Verdansk '84 map, which is set in the 1980s. According to the developers, players will never return to the original version of the map again.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The third season of Call of Duty: Warzone has started. Along with it, a new map debuted in the game - Verdansk '84;
  2. As you can deduce from the name, it takes us to the year 1984 and offers Cold War vibes;
  3. The developers announced that there will be no return to the old, modern version of Verdansk.

After the nuclear explosion that destroyed Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone, it's time for a new version of the map, called Verdansk '84. The new arena takes players back to the 1980s and introduces Cold War vibes. Players go back in time to 1984 and the map is completely remodeled:

"New Warzone brings huge changes, including new, redesigned locations, new gameplay options, and in-depth optimizations across the map as nearly every building, surface, and object has been modified for a smoother gameplay experience," the official announcement reads.

The new version of Verdansk is now available in the game, although some people were able to play it before the release due to a mistake. The map was available in private matches, but was quickly blocked.

Below you can watch the official trailer of Verdansk '84:

According to the developers , the previous map will be retired permanently. "Players will never visit modern Verdansk again," claims Amos Hodge from Raven Software. Moving the gameplay to a new map has been used as an opportunity to improve many glitched elements.

Everything seems to indicate that the recent events were a farewell to the previous version of Verdansk. On the one hand, many people will certainly miss it, on the other hand, this step forward may turn out to be not only the introduction of new, interesting content, but also improve the overall gameplay quality.
