We've learned the release date of version 0.3.0 for Path of Exile 2. With new players in mind, the developers explained how major updates with new leagues work.
Now that Path of Exile fans have been satisfied with new content added with the Secrets of the Atlas league, those playing the second part can start to warm up as it's their turn next. Given that Path of Exile 2 has attracted many new players, the developers from Grinding Gear Games studio decided to explain how updates work in their games.
Let's remind that version 0.2.0 (Dawn of the Hunt) debuted in April this year. The Grinding Gear Games team has adopted a strategy of releasing major updates for both of their productions every 4 months. This means that the next league will start in August - and what's best, we even already know the specific date.
GGG also explained to new players that each major update also includes a new league. In each of them, the player starts the game without any gear, with exclusive content, new combat mechanics, rewards, crafting options, and bosses. In short - we are starting the fun from scratch, but with additional features. It should be emphasized that they are later integrated into the basic game.
After the league ends, all characters switch to standard mode, and willing players can continue playing as them, although few decide to do so. It's also worth mentioning that due to the fact that PoE 2 is not yet finished, updates will also include additional content for the base game.
Path of Exile 2 is available in early access on PC and PS5 and XSX/X consoles.
