The Fallout series gained popularity boost after the TV show release, and it is quite substantial, we may add. New and old players are gathering to enjoy all installments of the cycle. However, gameplay is not the only point of interest for fans. Many of them want to learn more about lore. For numerous people, especially appealing is the case of Shady Sands. Let’s talk about it.

What Happened to Shady Sands in Fallout 3

Nothing – that’s the short answer. However, we can make it a little bit longer, too. Shady Sands is the Capital of New California Republic and is an important city for post apocalyptic North America. It is crucial place for Fallout and Fallout 2. Let’s stop here for a minute…

As you may know… or not, Fallout series takes place on two coasts. They are divided by 4800 kilometers or almost 3000 miles. It is not an easy distance to cover without a plane, especially in the ruined land full of dangerous creatures, bandits and radioactive wastelands. So, events or places which are important for one coast are not particularly influential for the other.

With the above in mind, we need to highlight that Fallout 3 takes place on the East Coast of the former USA, on the other hand, Shady Sands is on the West Coast. It means that it is irrelevant for the game. And by extension, we do not learn anything new or important on the subject while we play.

If you want to know more about the city, and what happened to it in all games, as well as how TV series changes the Fallout world, we recommend you read our different article which deals with the topic in a great detail.
