A Minecraft Movie has just been released in theaters, and fans are already wondering if a sequel will be made. The director of the first part has commented on it.
Although A Minecraft Movie is only at the beginning of its journey in theaters, it has already undeniably become a big hit. The production is very popular with audiences and screenings generate a lot of excitement, so it's no surprise that the topic of this production has not gone quiet, and on top of that many are already wondering when they will be able to see A Minecraft Movie at home.
The streaming premiere, however, is not the only interesting topic concerning the film. The question of a sequel, which was suggested by the post-credits scene, is also arousing curiosity. Will it be made?
No decision has been made on A Minecraft Movie 2, but that still doesn't stop the director of the first film, Jared Hess, from talking to Deadline about a potential sequel. The filmmaker seems excited about the prospect of making another movie based on Minecraft.
I would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there’s already talk about it happening, so I’m super excited. It’ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time. We teased it in the end credits, and the fans seem to be going wild for it.
If A Minecraft Movie 2 will be made, what can we expect from it? As suggested by the post-credits scene, and now by the director himself, the film will introduce Alex, a character well known to fans of the game.
The character we teased is Alex, the other massively critical character in Minecraft. It’s Steve and Alex, and so that’s the one that we will be bringing to the table without a doubt.
Looking at the success of A Minecraft Movie, it seems that a sequel is only a matter of time. But it remains to be seen whether Warner Bros. will actually give it a chance.
