Windows 10 20H2 Update Available

We can now download the latest Windows 10 update, marked 20H2. Here's what the October update brought and how to download it.

After months of testing and waiting, the 20H2 update for Windows 10 will finally reach the users. The "October 2020 Update", because this its official name, will be implemented gradually, which means that not everyone will get access to it immediately.

The 20H2 Update works as a "service pack", just like the 1909 Update. People who have the "May 2020 Update" on their computer will download the new update via Windows Update and it is unlikely to take too long. It's a different matter if we haven't updated our operating system on an ongoing basis - then the whole process can take a lot of time.

The main change is a refreshed start menu with unified tile background color. From now on, we no longer have to deal with multicolored mosaic, but a uniform background matching our chosen theme. What's more, the new Chromium-based Edge browser is already an integral part of the system. In addition, many smaller improvements have been made to the overall stability of the system.

If you want to enjoy the latest version of Windows 10 right now, look at the Settings and in the "Update and security" tab click the "search for updates" button. If Windows Update does not inform you of any available updates, then you have to carry out the process manually using Microsoft's dedicated tool. Alternatively, you can install the system from the ISO file available in the multimedia tool. As usual, however, in the case of such large updates, we recommend that you hold off for at least a few days and read about the stability and possible errors that the update brings.
