On Monday, the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion debuted on the market. One of the players on the European Al'akir server has already reached the level cap.
IN A NUTSHELL:
Yesterday, saw the launch of the Shadowlands expansion for the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft by Blizzard Entertainment. Like the game, the expansion is only available on PC. The base edition costs $39.99. There are also Heroic ($54.99) and Epic ($74.99) editions, offering bonus content and additional services (e.g. levelling the character to the Shadowlands level, and in the case of Epic also 30 days of free game time - we don't have to pay for the subscription fee for the first month).
Below you will find the system requirements of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. As you can see, even a few-years old hardware should be enough to play.
Interestingly, after the game's launch was barely finished, the first player has already managed to reach the maximum level 60 (in WoW: Shadowlands, the developers have heavily rebuilt the character progression system, cutting the level cap in half). The feat was achieved by user Monkeytool, playing on the European Al'akir server - he needed about three hours to do so.
It is worth noting that speed leveling had little to do with the content of the expansion - the player repeatedly played through a single dungeon called Necrotic Wake in a three-person team, so he quickly gained a lot of experience. A certain trick was also used - Necrotic Wake instance is inaccessible for characters above level 56, but you can get to it if at least one of the team members is below the limit. So, a six-player rotation was used, the aim of which was only to bring Monkeytool to "sixty".
