WWII Squad mod Post Scriptum goes standalone

Post Scriptum is a WWII online shooter in development by Battlefield 2 and Squad modders. The game will focus on large-scale battles set during Operation Market Garden.

About a year ago the authors of the Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2 and Squad modders got together to collaborate on a WWII modification for the latter title. United under Periscope Games the developers have now announced that their project, dubbed Post Scriptum, is going to launch as a standalone game on Steam in early 2018. Here is a new trailer that discusses the title’s key features. Note, however, that this is still an alpha version, so many of its elements (including some animations) may be missing.

Post Scriptum will let you re-enact the famous Operation Market Garden that the Allied forces launched in German-occupied Netherlands in 1944. Up to 100 players, split into two rivaling teams will follow the most important stages of the operation, including the final battle over the bridge of Arnhem, which historically was lost by Allies. The developers focus on reality, historical accuracy and grand scale of battles – the terrain we will be fighting over will be recreated in a 1:1 scale based on archival sources and maps.
