Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 - Nintendo Promises New Information

Nintendo has apologized for the lack of information about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Producer Eiji Aonuma promised that the first details will be revealed later in 2021.

The announcement The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD clearly pleased fans of the series. Despite this, yesterday's Nintendo Direct may have left a lot of unsatisfied players waiting for information about the sequel to Breath of the Wild. Nintendo is aware of this, which could be seen during the presentation itself. Eiji Aonuma, the producer overseeing The Legend of Zelda franchise, apologized for the lack of information on Breath of the Wild 2, despite the fact that work on the title is going well. He also assured that there will definitely be some information this year, but for now he asks players to be patient.

Such a general statement is unlikely to comfort fans of the series, especially since many, many months have passed since the announcement of BOTW 2 in June 2019. Since then, the game has been mentioned rarely. Suffice it to recall the last Nintedo Direct Mini from September 2020. Back then, fans were asked to arm themselves with patience, without getting with any tangible information. The same probably applies to the release of the game: since specific information will appear "this year", we can rather exclude the debut of the game before 2022. Especially in the context of reports from a year ago about a longer-than-anticipated development, as well as the subsequent coronavirus outbreak.
