Resident Evil 4 Remake: Waste Disposal Terminal puzzle

During Chapter 14 of RE4 Remake, you may come across an inactive Electronic Lock Terminal in Waste Disposal area of the Island. This part of the guide shows how to activate the terminal, which involves a mini-game that sees you reroute power to lightning icons. Moreover, we show how to protect Ashley from kidnapping attempts during a combat sequence.

Inactive terminal at Waste Disposal

Waste Disposal is a location visited during the exploration of the Island in Chapter 14. You'll encounter an inactive Electronic Lock Terminal here and to activate it, you'll need a complete a puzzle that sees you reroute the power.

Co-operating with Ashley

Once you've found yourself in a dark room, find the valve and ask Ashley for help. This will raise the bridge.

Keep going. The linear path will lead you to a lever - pulling it will redirect the power supply to the other part of the room (the one with the terminal).

Protecting Ashley

Now you must protect Ashley from incoming enemies and defend yourself from a Regenerador at the same time.

For the Regenerador, use grenades or the shotgun to incapacitate him temporarily, as you won't have time to fire precise shots at the parasites.

Keep track of Ashley and attack enemies that attempt to grab her - shoot through the bars, preferably with powerful weapons. If the girl is grabbed, you need to save her before the enemies carry her out of Waste Disposal.

After getting rid of the normal opponents, focus on the Regenerador and this time you'll have time to pick off his parasites one by one (alternatively, you can just run away from it).

Terminal puzzle - rerouting power

Return to Ashley. Electronic Lock Terminal should be active now.

The puzzle is more or less complex depending on the difficulty level you've chosen.

The screenshot above shows the solution for Assisted and Standard difficulty levels (4 lightning icons).

The screenshot above shows the solution for Hardcore and Professional difficulty levels (6 lightning bolt icons).

Select the middle lightning and a System Restored message will appear. You can now leave Waste Disposal through the southern exit.
