Jedi Survivor: How to defeat the Rancor boss (Sodden Grotto on Koboh)?

Location of the boss fight with Rancor

Rancor is an optional boss. You don't have to fight it, but defeating the boss gets you a good reward. If you have problems with the Rancor, you can return to it later once you get stronger.

On the planet Koboh, you must reach the Hunter's Quarry and locate the entrance to the Sodden Grotto. You can also learn about the location from one of the locals, who will ask you to find the missing people.

Go through the Sodden Grotto and be sure to use the meditation point to respawn close to the monster's lair in case of death.

Reaching the last cavern will make the Rancor appear.

Description of the fight in the boss's lair

The most important thing in this battle is to flawlessly avoid the boss's red attacks . The most problematic is the grab. If the boss grabs you, you will most likely die right away. Avoid it by dodging to the side.

Another red attack is hitting the ground hard with the hands. This attack will cause a shockwave and you have to dodge left or right at the right moment.

The boss also uses regular attacks, which can be, for example, a series of ground slams. You can block or parry them (make sure you have a lot of stamina), or jump away from the Rancor (use double jumps).

Standard boss attacks can also be strong, so use stims to heal wounds right away. The more stims you have at your disposal, the easier it will be to survive the fight.

Attack with the lightsaber just after the Rancor finishes its series of attacks. You can, e.g. hit its legs. Jump back after the Rancor starts attacking again.

Once the boss has only a few health points left, you will do an automatic finisher and kill the monster.

After defeating the Rancor, you can explore the cavern and find the Shatter perk (easier to break the enemy's guard). You can activate it at any meditation point.
