Free City of Novigrad: Tips
The game doesn't block access to the Free City of Novigrad in any way, it is possible to reach it even early in the game. But you must know that completing some side quests could prove impossible at the beginning. Additionally, you can be attacked by thugs on level 9-10 in poor districts of the town (mostly in docks). That will happen only if you stray away from one of the main paths.
One of the more interesting people in the city is Vimme Vivaldi who can be found near the main market. At this character you can take a loan and trade florens and orens you found for crowns, the currently acceptable currency. You should go back to Vivaldi regularly and obtain some crowns by trading. Another reason to return to the city frequently is the fact that you will find some craftsmen here. It's a good place to repair your items and create new weapons, armor and other items.
There are two brothels in the Free City of Novigrad. You should take use of its services later in the game, because a single courtesan service costs from 20 to even 40 crowns.
