When it comes to exploration and revealing secrets, Banishers Ghosts of New Eden draws some solutions from Metroidvania type of games. As you explore new locations, from time to time you'll encounter pathways blocked by large boulders, impassable vegetation, or a spectral barrier not of this world. On this page of our guide, we list all possible types of destroyable barriers, as well as explain when and where you'll receive the ability to destroy them.
Physical objects
The first and simplest type of barriers in the game are reinforced walls made of stone or wooden planks. You will recognize that a wall can be destroyed by switching to Anteia - a greenish glow will emanate from them.
To destroy reinforced walls, you must use Antea's Outburst ability. Switch to the heroine, activate the skill, and the obstacle will crumble into dust.
Creeping Ivy
The mysterious Ivy is a special type of barrier resulting from the influence of the curse. It consists of the main core and stems with buds at their ends. Red cannot see the spectral manifestation of the plant, but switching to Antea reveals vulnerable parts of the plant.
Destroying the plant will require a joint effort of both heroes. First, as Antea, use Ensnare on the main blue core. Then quickly switch to Red and shoot or hit the buds activated in this way (usually there are 2 or 3 of them). If you manage to destroy all the buds in a fairly short time, the plant will fall apart.
This action requires speed and coordination, so check the locations of all the buds in advance so as not to waste time looking for them during the actual attempt.

Spectral Webs
This type of barrier is encountered in the later stages of the game. To destroy it, you need to have Fusion ability in your repertoire. When you encounter a greenish, wavy glow, simply approach it and press the indicated button. This will destroy the barrier, allowing you to continue.
