Best Games of 2021 - The Ultimate List of Best Video Games Released

This isn't a summary yet, but our list of this year's best PC and console games that you can already play in 2021. We present the titles which are worth paying attention to, because maybe they will fight for the GOTY title at the end of the year.

  1. Premiere: June 11
  2. Platform: PlayStation 5
  3. Our rating: 8.5/10

An "interactive Pixar movie" is what the latest installment of Ratchet & Clank is often described as. Another title that will be played exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console finally proves what the new generation of hardware is capable of. The game is visually stunning and, for the time being, a true PS5 benchmark. The cartoon style doesn't get in the way of showing plenty of detail, and the character animations and location designs are even more impressive. This is one of those games that you simply must see in action.

And when all the awe dies down, it's worth mentioning that Rift Apart is a direct sequel to 2013's Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. Due to various, strange circumstances, the lovable Ratchet and his companion Clank end up in another dimension where their nemesis, Doctor Nefarious, reigns. Together with new heroine Rivet, they try to overthrow a mad tyrant. Suffice it to say that the storyline is good and would be engaging even without such graphics. Alongside that, of course, there's frantic combat, exploration, and a variety of levels. It's a game for absolutely everyone and a true showcase for the PlayStation 5.

Guilty Gear: Strive

Guilty Gear: Strive should satisfy every brawler lover – and not because of current scarcity in the genre. - Games of 2021 - current list of the best productions - documentary - 2021-12-16
Guilty Gear: Strive should satisfy every brawler lover – and not because of current scarcity in the genre.
  1. Premiere: June 11
  2. Platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4
  3. Our rating: none (85/100 on Metacritic)

The seventh installment of the popular brawler series doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. It's still the same formula of duels in various arenas in animé style, but more refined. Strive stands out with great graphics, awesome character designs, and of course the combat mechanics. This time, it is much more accessible for beginners and allows you to derive satisfying combos on the spot. At the same time, it retains a lot of depth and room for veterans to hone their skills.

The single-player content may not be very impressive, but Guilty Gear: Strive shines in the multiplayer. The system matches players quite well in terms of skill, allowing you to clash with better opponents at your own request, but blocks the urge to batter noobs. Overall, GG: Strive is an exemplary brawler that will appeal to both veterans looking for a challenge and those just wanting to relax with some nice, dynamic gameplay. At a time when the genre is not the most popular, it's all the more reason to appreciate such a polished production.
