It turns out the protagonist's employer has earned himself the dislike of both Russian and Italian mobsters, and the player's task is to get Tony out of this troublesome situation. A number of new locations was created for the sake of the expansion, including night clubs, golf courses, an underground boxing ring and more. The expansion features mainly colorful story missions. During these, the protagonist not only drives vehicles or shoots enemies, but also performs such breakneck acts as blowing up a yacht, stealing a car from a moving train, or parachuting off a skyscraper. Additionally, the expansion offers a variety of side activities and mini-games, such as dancing at the clubs, and introduces new weapons and vehicles to the game.

The game contains six interweaving stories during which the player assumes the role of three soldiers of allied countries: USA, Great Britain and Soviet Union. The soldiers participate in fictional depictions of actual World War II operations that happened in years 1942-1945, including the battle of Stalingrad and battles in North Africa, Belgium and Germany. During fifteen missions the player participates in various shootouts during which he will use historic weapons. In addition to singleplayer campaign, Call of Duty: Finest Hour offers few multiplayer modes, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.

Nevertheless, this time, apart from the British Touring Car Championship license, the production also possesses rights to other international competitions, such as the German DTM or the Australian V8 Supercars. In the game we will find 13 championships to participate in, as well as 38 legitimate racing tracks and 42 authentic cars. The visuals, alongside the applied driving model and destruction system have also been subject to subsequent improvements; the developers have also expanded the possibilities for the modification of our vehicles. The plot, which connects individual races, is a complete novelty to the series; it casts us into the role of a young driver – Ryan McKane – and it is our task to guide him through the consecutive steps in his career.
