A simplistic, two-dimensional adventure game based on the Flash technology and developed by Amanita Design - a Czech game-making studio. Anyone can play the game for free, using their internet browser. The player takes on the role of an alien inhabiting a huge root suspended in space. One day, he spots a gigantic asteroid heading towards him. He quickly makes his way to its surface, where his task is to find a way to change the asteroid's flight direction and save his home. It is a simplistic adventure game deprived of a typical player inventory for example. The player is not in full control of the protagonist's movements. Rather, the gameplay consists of a series of subsequent puzzles linked together by the storyline. The player's task is to make a good use of the objects displayed on the screen in order to access the next level. Samorost stands out with original visuals combining hand-drawn elements with adequately modified photographs.

A complex turn-based strategy, developed by the famous Gary Grigsby and his studio, 2BY3 Games. The title says it all - War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-45 focuses on the 1941-1945 conflict between Soviets and Third Reich that ravaged Central and Eastern Europe. Similarly to their previous games, the authors offer not only a realistic recreation of the warfare itself, but also pay great attention to the economic factors that played a tremendous role in how the conflict had shaped itself over the years. The map, spanning from East Berlin, through Leningrad and Baku, up to Ural Mountains, contains all the locations of major clashes between Germany and Soviet Union. As a tradition of such games, a lot of effort was placed into recreating the military units that took part in the conflict, including their training, experience, fatigue, and morale. To increase the believability of the action, the game calculates a number of factors, including landform, weather conditions, or soldiers’ field of view.

Player’s goal is to win a season comprising 13 matches. When conventional methods fail, one can appeal to some dirty tricks like bribing the referee. A turn-based strategy game, developed by The Headquarter – a Spanish studio known for Espana 1936. This time, the authors enable us to take part in the Thirty Years’ War, a 17th century conflict between Protestant countries of the Holy Roman Empire, supported by other European nations (e.g. Sweden, Denmark, France, Scotland, or England) and the coalition led by Catholic Habsburg dynasty. 30 Years’ War allows us to join either Protestants or Catholics, and take part in the war for domination over The Old Continent, recreating the crucial moments of the conflict. When it comes to mechanics, we are left with a complex, old-school strategy game, employing a simultaneously-executed turn system, and placing a lot of emphasis on faithful recreation of 17th century Europe and its style of conducting warfare. During the game, our mind is preoccupied not only with warfare, but also with conscripting armies and our country’s economy and diplomacy.

An upgraded version of the fourth installment in the Samurai Warriors series, which came out for the tenth anniversary of the franchise. Developed by Omega Force, the game was released not only for Sony consoles, but also for PCs. The game is a conventional TPP hack-and-slash, featuring spectacular battles. Samurai Warriors 4-II is set in Feudal Japan, and the player takes part in subsequent skirmishes, fighting both smaller groups of enemies and entire armies. The game offers dozens of Japanese characters to choose from. In comparison to the basic version of Samurai Warriors 4, this edition brings several significant changes. The game introduces two modes - the Story Mode (offers thirteen new scenarios) and Endless Castle (a mixture of the Survival and Challenge modes from the previous installments). Gameplay as such was modified, as more emphasis was placed on strategic elements, an ability to combine weapons (to obtain more powerful versions) was added, and the character development system was remodeled. Apart from a single player experience, the creators included a co-op mode.

A unusual racing game by Different Cloth. In Drive!Drive!Drive!, you participate in drag races taking place on various tracks and featuring various drivers, with the option to switch between the races whenever you want to. When you drive a car, the other drivers are controlled by the AI. However, they are a bunch of idiots with poor skills and a tendency for making the worst of choices. To win, you have to manage your attention and choose the right moment to take the wheel or leave the drivers be. The tracks are scattered across many galaxies, and each of them features different laws of gravity.
