A classic adventure game developed by independent studio MidBoss. Assuming the role of a journalist, the player finds himself in cyberpunk Neo-San Francisco of 2064 and conducts an investigation so as to find the creator of the machine called Turing – the world’s first Artificial Intelligence with self-consciousness and an ability to think independently. The setting is retrofuturistic – the creators have drawn inspirations from the 1980s’ vision of the future. The effect is magnified by old-school 8-bit graphics. Gameplay in Read Only Memories comes down to world exploration, chatting with various characters, and solving puzzles. From time to time, the player needs to complete arcade sequences consisting in fighting enemies or sneaking past guards. The way the story develops largely depends on the player’s actions and their decisions, which lead to different plot branches.

An interactive survival horror set in a science-fiction world, developed by Darewise Interactive studio, in which we play as one of the Martian colonists with the task of surviving in the hostile environment. The gameplay mechanics are mostly based on other, similar games from this genre, with the gameplay boiling down to exploration and creation of necessary items using a complex crafting system, which relies heavily on robotics and programming. We also have to take care of various vital parameters of our character, providing him with food, oxygen, and protection from radiation. The game concentrates around the co-op mode, which shows not only in the possibility of working together with other players, but is also necessary to master crafting. Rokh is powered by Unreal Engine 4, offering e.g. dynamic weather and atmospheric pressure, which both have major impact on the gameplay.

Overload is a 6DoF (Six Degrees of Freedom) first-person shooter developed by Revival Productions. The studio was created by the experienced developers responsible for the iconic Descent series, from which Overload takes handfuls of inspiration. Just like in its precursor, the players control a futuristic vehicle that breaks all the laws of physics with its movement mechanics. Our job will be to destroy a reactor and escape in one piece. Overload focuses on the exploration of the unique locations, created according to the "deformed cube" scheme from the Descent series, searching for shortcuts, and looking for keys that unlock next levels of the compound. We will also face hordes of enemies and free the hibernated hostages. We will use a wide array of weapons during our adventures. Each element of our arsenal can be modified to increase its power. We will have to use a more tactical approach when fighting bosses. The game comes with an editor that allows us to create our own maps and missions. Overload features high-quality 3D visuals and a characteristic soundtrack composed by Dan Wentz and Allister Brimble, composers of the music from the original Descent.

The player assumes the role of the last member of the Order of the Valiant, who after many centuries returns to the realm in order to avenge his brothers and save what is left of the world. Similarly as in classic hack’n’slash games, the action is shown from a top-down perspective and the player most of the time explores the world and participates in dynamic combat with monsters. Bladebound employs touch-based controls in which one must draw lines on the screen with his finger. These lines create powerful attacks and spells. The game also contains a character progression system and the possibility to obtain better equipment and weapon. The crafting system allows the player to create his own weapons.

Another installment in a series of popular RPGs brought by Nintendo and created specifically for Wii U. The player is taken to the Prism island - a place which was once very beautiful but is now losing its colors for unknown reasons. Mario's task is to discover the source of this terrible situation and save the island. The game offers interesting mechanics that distinguish this title from other role-playing games. The player is required to color blank spots in the game world, but to do so, Mario needs to equip a special hammer. Hitting things with it results in colors being restored in the area, characters getting revived and prisoners released. For doing all of this, the player is given golden coins. Interestingly, the player is engaged in coloring even in combat, but instead of coloring parts of the game world, special cards become their targets, representing different kinds of attacks. In terms of visuals, the game combines three-dimensional environments with flat, "paper" characters. Paper Mario: Color Splash is a very colorful game as its very title suggests, resembling in this aspect other games featuring the famous plumber.

An MMO shooter with survival elements, set in a world after a zombie outbreak, developed by the Daybreak Game Company studio. The title is one of the two alternative versions of the survival sandbox game formerly known as H1Z1 that was divided into two independent productions during the early access stage. Unlike H1Z1: Just Survive, that remained faithful to the developers' original concept, H1Z1: King of the Kill focuses on dynamic action and players competing in one of several PvP modes, spearheaded by the Battle Royale mode, well-known from the original game. The game features also some elements of survival: before the struggle begins the players get a little time to gather resources and create equipment that they will use to fight their opponents. However, in contrast to the original game these elements were marginalized.

A two-dimensional arcade game from Lucky Kat, in which we pilot a flying machine made of a cardboard box. The game takes place in a fantastic worlds whose inhabitants travel with technologically advanced vehicles. That doesn’t apply to our hero though, as he starts his journey in a cardboard box with rocket engines attached to it and has to collect and install further enhancements for his machine. To achieve this, the protagonist has to explore locations while avoiding traps, fighting enemies, and collecting gold coins scattered throughout the game’s world. Gameplay is very simplified and comes down to tapping either left or right side of the screen, activating one of two engines of our flying vehicle. The game features a pleasant pixel-art visual style, and large number of highly diversified locations.

A futuristic racing game developed by Caged Element and a spiritual successor to the once-popular Rollcage series. GRIP takes us to an unspecified period in the future and focuses on brutal racing tournaments of well-armored vehicles; the tradition stems from illegal city racing that was popular in early 21st century. As the sport grew more and more popular the number of modifications in racing cars constantly increased, which translated into significantly better performance for the price of taking incredible risks. In the wake of numerous unsuccessful attempts to eradicate the brutal sport, the authorities eventually admitted their defeat and accepted it as an official sports discipline along with its TV broadcasts. The rules are incredibly simple: the players’ task is to reach the finish line as quickly as possible and preferably in one piece. What differentiates GRIP from traditional racing games is the unique construction of the cars that allows them to drive on nearly all surfaces, including ceilings.

Developed by Marvelous AQL, another installment of the third-person perspective action games subseries of the Fate franchise, which after a longer break returns to gaming consoles. The action of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star takes place after events from Fate/EXTRA. As the previous war comes to an end, the supercomputer Moon Cell Automaton takes over the world and sends the players to a digital kingdom known as SE.RA.PH., where they have to fight one more battle for freedom. Mechanics slightly resemble productions from the Dynasty Warriors series. During gameplay you control one of 16 characters known as Servants – there are both some new and old characters. Each of the aforementioned figures possesses unique, great powers that you can use in combat with tens (or even hundreds) of enemies at the same time. In contrast to the other titles in the franchise, representing either jRPG or visual novel genres, this production features fast and spectacular action in the form of a hack-and-slash.

Tree of Life is a survival MMO developed by the Korean studio OddOneGames. Despite being set in a fantasy world, the game in topic has the same simple rules as others of the genre. Players are taken to a vast, open world where they have only one goal - survival. To do so, they hunt and gather resources in order to build bases and fortresses that make it easier to defend themselves against other players and AI-controlled monsters. Each available hero has their own unique combination of abilities, but the game lacks any sort of class division among characters, the players simply create their own professions. The developers decided not to include any typical dungeons, raids, or quests known from other MMO games in Tree of Life. Instead, the interactions between the players were their main focus. Players can create guilds, trade, or attack each other.

The basic mechanics seen in the previous installment haven’t changed – we've received a complex sandbox golfing simulator that enables us to create our own player and take part in numerous matches and golf tournaments. The authors introduced numerous fixes and improvements, including realistic club control and more personalization options. Aside from an extensive career mode, The Golf Club 2 offers single matches and multiple multiplayer modes. The multiplayer itself is influenced by its online community – the players can establish golfing clubs that can participate in tournaments, or even the whole series. The game contains an extensive golf course editor, allowing us to share our courses with other players. The new installment uses Unity 5 engine, meaning improved graphics, mainly regarding the character models and environment.

Another installment in a popular series of racing games developed by Eutechnyx Software. One of the strengths of the game is the fact that it benefits from the license of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. The player takes on the role of a beginner and competes for victory in Sprint Cup Series. Apart from that, the game features quick races and various multiplayer modes. NASCAR '15 differs from other racing games in mechanics, as racing takes place on oval tracks and in order to achieve success, the player has to be in possession of both a sufficiently powerful car and well-developed skills. A cartoonish survival horror stealth game with an isometric view. The production was developed by Japanese studio Nippon Ichi Software, known mostly for the Disgaea series. In Yomawari: Night Alone you play as a little girl, who embarks on a search for her missing sister and dog, on her own, after dark. It quickly turns out that the town streets are full of wraiths, from which the girl has to hide. To survive, you have to sneak past the ghosts, divert their attention, and try to outsmart them. What warns you against the nearby threats is the visualization of the girl's heartbeat — the closer a ghost is, the faster your heart rate. The game also features logic puzzles. You should also gather coins, which you can use to buy favors from the local deities in temples. Despite the 2D visuals, resembling Japanese anime, they create a truly frightening atmosphere thanks to the subdued colors and the designs of the wraiths.

Another DLC for the crazy action game Goat Simulator released in 2014 by Coffee Stain. The Waste of Space expansion adds a completely new map to the game. The map is larger than anything that Goat Simulator and its expansions offered up until now. The new level consists of a large space area and of an alien planet with a colony on its surface. Typically for the Goat Simulator, there is no story per se. Instead, the game focuses on a typically sandbox gameplay model which is filled with absurd jokes and opportunities for having fun and engaging in combat. Chaos and destruction can be pursued not only on the surface of the planet and in space, but on space cruisers and space stations as well. The expansion also adds various futuristic technologies and a romance system which parodies the Mass Effect series.
