A side-scrolling jRPG with strong elements of classic beat'em up. Fallen Legion was developed by an American studio YummyYummyTummy. The game came out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; the two versions differ mainly in terms of story. Fallen Legion is set in a fantasy world and the player is taken to the Kingdom of Fenumia, which falls from glory due to the king's premature death. His daughter (the protagonist in the PS4 version), tries to cope with the problem and goes on a long and dangerous journey in order to bring peace and safety to her subjects. This is obviously noticed by Legatus Laendur (the protagonist in the PSV version), who's lust for power makes him try to take control of Fenumia in her absence. The core of the experience is constituted by fighting enemies in a real-time combat system. The key to success is to make a good use of the individual abilities of the controlled characters, apart from being able to skillfully combine attacks of the entire team into complex combos; however, having quick reflexes is also needed. Furthermore, the player has to make more and less important decisions many times - those influence the course of the story and what the game world looks like. All of this is complemented by eye-pleasing, hand-painted 2D visuals.

An experimental, three-dimensional platformer offering an abstract, alluring game world. Bound is the third project developed by Plastic - a Polish team popular for a dark adventure game Datura and an artistic logic game Linger in Shadows. Similar to these titles, Bound was created exclusively for PlayStation 4 and it was developed in cooperation with Sony Santa Monica (the God of War series). Although the game is hard to classify, calling it simply a three-dimensional platformer is a relatively accurate description. Special emphasis was placed on puzzle solving, which is done together with other players. When creating the game world, the developers were inspired by works of abstract art from the beginning of the twentieth century - the player observes lively colors contrasting with one another, as well as simple blocks the virtual environments are made of. Additionally, certain elements of the in-game world are generated procedurally. Motion-capture techniques with the participation of Maria Udod (a professional, Russian dancer) were used in creation of character animations for the game.

A spin-off of a popular music game series developed over the years by Harmonix Music Systems. The largest novelty which distinguishes Rock Band VR from the main installments is obviously the support of Virtual Reality goggles. Subsequent performances are viewed here from the first-person perspective. Apart from that, however, the Rock Band gameplay formula remains unchanged. Once again, the player assumes the roles of individual rock band members in order to play the part of a drummer, guitarist or a singer, trying to recreate a given song to the best of their ability through pressing adequate buttons at the right time and linking them into combinations by doing so. The better the quality of one's performance, the larger the score. What is also worth noticing, is that members of a power metal band DragonForce took part in both the game's production process and its commercial campaign.

The story is again told from a few different perspectives. In addition to well known characters, completely new ones appear in the game. As in previous games developed by this studio, the gameplay focuses on the story and on the necessity to make various decisions that determine the path of current and further episodes. It is possible to import saved games from the first season and decisions made there will impact the game.

A multiplayer shooter set in space, created by Armature studio. The action of Dead Star takes place near a dying star that will soon transform into a supernova. Each ship owner tries to scavenge the remaining resources in the area in order to escape, even if it means taking away lives. There are two teams composed of up to 10 players. They are in control of various spaceships that can be customized and upgraded. The game mechanics in Dead Star resembles old-school arcade shooters. You move in two-dimensional environment with a top-down view of the vehicle and aiming independent from the ship’s movement. Dead Star includes several modern design solutions, and procedural map generation is the most important one among them. Levels are randomly filled with obstacles and structures that provide various bonuses.

A minimalistic twin-stick shooter from the creators of the well-received Shipwreck. The gameplay focuses on flying on a circular board and eliminating incoming waves of enemies. Unlike in the classic title Asteroids, which served as inspiration for the developers of Polychromatic, the player-controlled object can move and shoot in all directions. Enemies come in the form of various geometrical shapes, and in many different colors. The game was created with single player mode in mind, but it also offers some substitute of multiplayer in online statistics and leaderboards. Polychromatic uses simple, two-dimensional visuals, while its soundtrack has been composed by Dan Waters.

The third installment in a series of popular turn-based strategies enriched with RPG elements. The franchise has been developed by Tortuga Team - an independent Russian studio. This time, the player takes on the role of Captain Jim, whose goal is to find an ancient treasure. Making this happen often gets interrupted by other pirates the protagonist has to deal with, as well as sea monsters and hordes of undead. A story campaign is at the core of the game and the player is required to explore the game world, complete various story-based missions and side quests, recruit crew-members and fight the enemies encountered. In comparison to the previous installments, Braveland Pirate introduces an important change in the mechanics - the protagonist now takes part in fights directly, joining his team of companions having different weapons and abilities. Significantly, the range of combat abilities available gets wider alongside player progression; as for the battles as such, those take place both in at sea and on land. Changing the setting did not influence the art style of the visuals however - these are still both cartoonish and eye-pleasing.

An original combination of an old-school isometric RPG with an adventure and a card game. It is the first product created entirely by the independent studio Deckpoint. The team is led by a skin creator for the popular FPS Counter-Strike - Jesse Kooner. The player assumes the role of a young male protagonist, who chooses gambling over routine daily work. Along with his friends, he traverses the fictional country of Arithia, participating in subsequent Ekosi tournaments - a variation on the classic Black Jack, allowing the players to affect the results with their own cards. However, Luckless Seven does not focus solely on playing a card game, for it was given the shape of an RPG, featuring an extensive storyline. Thus the player completes different assignments, talks to various characters and develops the protagonist as well. Also, interacting with the team members and making choices which affect their future is a significant part of the game.

In Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, our task is to wage war by recruiting and training units, equipping them and commanding them directly in battles. The extensive turn-based combat system is complemented by the necessity of keeping the supply lines for our armies as well as conducting diplomatic activities and managing the conquered cities.

The seventh large expansion to Europa Universalis IV, a strategy game released in 2013 by the Paradox studio. As the title suggests, one of the expansion's main novelties is the presence of a new ethnic group – the Cossacks, who played an important role in the base game as well as in the history of several Eastern European nations. Overall, Europa Universalis IV: The Cossacks introduces a much greater range of changes, including modifications to the game mechanics that influence almost every faction. At the forefront are the province mechanics, offering the option to transfer control over provinces to our subordinates, bringing both many benefits and many problems – if they gain too much power, it can result in an attempt to dethrone the player. In addition, the developers introduced some changes to espionage (ability to study the technology of more advanced countries) and diplomacy, e.g. it is now possible to show our attitude towards neighbors or to conduct our activities in the colonies while taking the native people into account.

Moreover, Operation Torch also allows you to play through an alternate version of World War II, in which Hitler is killed in 1943, and the Third Reich is more powerful than in real life. The gameplay of Gary Grigsby's War in the West: Operation Torch is identical to that in the core game — it's still quite complex, and the visuals are rather minimalistic.

A revised and extended edition of Raven's Cry, an action RPG sandbox set in the golden age of piracy, developed by Polish studio Reality Pump. Plot-wise, the game is no different from the original and its hero is an eighteenth-century pirate Christopher Raven, seeking revenge on the people who killed his family and cut off his hand. Since the original version of the game met with a huge wave of criticism due to numerous shortcomings and bugs, creators focused on improving all key elements of the mechanics such as character development, trading system, orcombat system (both onshore and offshore). At the same time the game features some novelties, such as new story missions or previously absent alchemy skill. Additionally, authors implemented new cutscenes and video clips, as well as re-recorded the English dubbing. The entire new content was made available as a free upgrade for all buyers of the original.

During the game a music video is shown on the screen and the player must quickly and precisely press the correct buttons. In contrast to its predecessors, Project Diva Future Tone doesn’t offer the option to interact with the characters or design their rooms. However, one can still unlock various accessories and costumes for them.

An old school 2D rogue-like platform shooter. Despite the fact of being quite simple, Downwell features extraordinary mechanics and high difficulty level. You are in control of a hero wearing special military gun-boots that enable him to shoot enemies, crush rocks, and perform air stunts. The action is set in a narrow, bottomless well filled with carefully-guarded treasures. The main objective in Downwell is to get as deep as possible in the procedurally generated levels to collect gems and fight enemies. Apart from the aforementioned boots, the hero can use other classic equipment that can be upgraded. The game introduces an interesting system of air combos which consist in eliminating as many opponents as possible without touching any solid surface. 2D graphics make use of just three colors – black, white, and red. The game is seasoned with a dark, 8-bit era-like soundtrack.

Farming Simulator 15: Gold offers both a solo experience and a multiplayer component for up to 16 players connected either via the Internet or LAN.

The adventure leads her through medieval forests, caves, and aforementioned mountaintops. Brave & Little Adventure consists of six chapters, in which the players explore charming locations while completing various tasks given by encountered neutral characters. Additionally, the key to success lies in solving various logical and environmental riddles, as well as sneaking behind certain enemies’ backs. The title is characterized by two-dimensional, colorful visuals and nice character animations. The authors’ vision is completed by a memorable, climatic soundtrack.

A science-fiction turn-based 4X strategy game created by Auroch Digital. Last Days of Old Earth concentrates on a vision of future, when the Sun began to dim and a substantial part of the Earth froze over, forcing the remainders of humanity to travel to relatively warm areas near the equator. What is even worse however, is that a faction of hostile robots called the Automata appeared on the surface of the planet. Automata had been created by a long-extinct civilization for unknown purposes. The player can assume leadership of either the decimated humans or the said robots in order to eradicate the opposition using the remaining resources. Units, buildings and technologies that each side of the conflict has at their disposal are different. In terms of mechanics, the game is based on characteristic elements of the 4X genre, What is crucial in combat here, is the adequate use of the shape of terrain and superpowers of particular characters. Last Days of Old Earth offers several game modes, including a typical story campaign, a skirmish mode and a multiplayer component.

The player’s job is to eliminate subsequent waves of enemies by using a wide range of diverse weapons, like cannons, rocket launchers, or thermal weapons. Gameplay features destructible environment and an simple progression system, which allows you to upgrade your machine and its individual parts with the resources you find during missions.

Similarly as in most other installments in the series, the main character is a young man named Link, who begins a new journey, this time to help the children kidnapped from his village by monsters. When the protagonist reaches the Twilight Realm and is transformed into a wolf, he meets a mysterious creature called Midna, who promises to take him to princess Zelda's castle and help him in reclaiming his former shape. HD version isn’t very different from the original game, which was a combination of RPG and a third person perspective action-adventure game in which player was mostly exploring and fighting. In addition to noticeably improved graphics, the gameplay was slightly changed and improved.

As the game progresses, the protagonist delved deeper into a complex web of intrigue and conspiracy, discovering that his part in the story is much bigger than his contract would suggest. The game consists of 50 varied levels featuring different scenery, in which you have to complete both platform challenges and stealth challenges, in which you have to rely on the protagonist's abilities to sneak from one place to another. The game is linear, although you can slightly alter the plot by unlocking and completing secret levels.

Developed by the PixelJam Games studio, Last Horizon is an sci-fi arcade game that focuses on exploration. We travel through a randomly generated galaxy, utilizing gravitational forces that we encounter on our way, and experience the journey in 2D; however, before we can discover a suitable planet, we have to acquire an appropriate amount of resources and locate colonies inhabited by people who are also searching for a new home. This task is made difficult by the fact that a huge percentage of planets which are rich in resources is already inhabited, and the native population will not take kindly to you burning through their supplies. Moreover, while we make our way through the galaxy, we have to constantly keep an eye on our supply of oxygen and fuel; we can also stumble across armadas of space pirates and various cosmic anomalies.

The first expansion for the arcade racing game released exclusively on PlayStation 4 by British Evolution Studios, the creators of WRC and MotorStorm series. DriveClub Bikes was released both as a stand-alone game and as an additional content for the original DriveClub. As the title suggests, the expansion adds various bikes from such manufacturers as Yamaha, Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda and BMW. One can drive them by using an arcade driving model with simulation features (weather conditions and type of surface affect the controls). New machines are unlocked as one progress through the campaign, which consists of a few dozen of events with gradually increasing difficulty. The events take place on closed tracks scattered through various countries, including Japan, Canada, India and Chile. The expansion does not add any new locations unavailable in the basic version of the game. Similarly as before, in DriveClub Bikes the players can create clubs for a group people to join and together play against other players.

After creating your character, you start searching for food, valuable items, and shelter. You have to be wary of not only bloodthirsty monsters, but also bad weather conditions, injuries, viruses and bacteria, which can infect and kill you. You can craft items, hack equipment, and track and hunt animals. Your enemies are controlled by an advanced AI, which makes them real killing machines. The combat is turn-based and takes place on a map divided into hexagons. NEO Scavengers also features a permadeath system.

The player enters a fantasy universe in which a great war between the Heavens and the Underworld took place 1000 years ago. The peaceful lives of Underworld demons have been interrupted by the appearance of Trillion – the legendary god of destruction whose objective is to begin the apocalypse. A great king – Zeabolos – has been defeated by Trillion, but is resurrected thanks to a woman named Faust. The resurrected hero is joined by a party of demonic lords that want to dispose of their ancient enemy once and for all. In Trillion: God of Destruction, the players take control of the aforementioned demons that are disguised as women. The game has a system of abilities which can be developed – we can upgrade them when Trillion is asleep. Our task in Marvel Avengers Academy is to educate a new generation of heroes, so even though we meet well-known characters like Loki, Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man or Captain America, they all are much younger, less experienced, and burdened with all the typical problem of a teenager. We have to manage the eponymous school, create timetables, and organize various activities and events for our pupils. Breaks between classes can be filled by sending our superheroes on missions to test their progress. Another important thing is taking care of the emotional development of characters, who are looking for love, form groups of friends, and face the problems of puberty.

Apart from combat, the game features a crafting system, which allows you to create your own items, and expansive customization options, including many haircuts and outfits. The graphics of Pocket MapleStory resemble anime style, which is referenced in the visuals and the exaggerated special effects.

The game’s strength is its impressive, for a mobile game, graphics, powered by the engine used in Modern Combat 5: Blackout.

The third and the final add-on released as a part of the season pass for Tom Clancy’s The Division, a popular online action game developed by Ubisoft Massive. In opposition to the two previous expansions – Underground and Survival, Last Stand was released on all three platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One) simultaneously. The new add-on does not introduce any major changes to multiplayer mechanics, but picks up the various plot threads that began in The Division, taking place in New York paralyzed by a pandemic of an unknown virus. As the members of Strategic Homeland Division, the players are trying to contain the chaos that has engulfed the city and deal with the terrorists responsible for the attack. The final expansion introduces new types of enemies, as well as a few additional story missions.

A game recreating the various situations encountered by coast guard officers, developed by Reality Twist - the team responsible for Ship Simulator: Maritime Search and Rescue. The main hero of Coast Guard, Finn Asdair, and his teammates – an engineer, Fatima Morgane, main investigator, Colman Bauers, and a forensic specialist, Larry La Bouche have to face a number of dangerous tasks, such as saving people from burning vessels, fishing out survivors, or investigating shipwrecks. Most of the time, we control a coast guard unit, seen from a third-person perspective. Our ship is sometimes supported by a smaller boat, of which we assume control during certain emergencies. Additionally, Coast Guard introduces an ability to disembark the boat in order to search an island, or a room on an oil rig. In such cases, the game switches to a FPP mode, and we have to use available items to solve encountered problems, similarly to adventure games. Coast Guard employs three-dimensional visuals, but their quality is not a highlight of the game.

Set in Norse mythology, an independent action game with an arcade combat system. Jotun is a Kickstarter project. The title was initially released on PC, then published on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U as an expanded edition called Jotun: Valhalla Edition featuring an additional game mode. Players are told the story of a Viking warrior named Thora who died an inglorious death. Before she passes through the gates of Valhalla, she needs to prove her worth to the Gods. Gameplay in Jotun utilizes an isometric view. Players assume the role of Thora who travels through the Nordic purgatory, divided into nine levels in which she has to release and defeat powerful elemental giants known as the jotun. During gameplay, players also come across various secrets and learn about the heroine’s life and the cause of her death. Jotun features hand-drawn visuals, an excellent soundtrack, and dialogues recorded in Icelandic, which emphasizes the game’s Nordic atmosphere.

Gameplay of Disney Art Academy remains the same as in the previous title, following a series of lessons that progressively introduce us to more and more complicated drawing techniques. It is complemented by Free Paint Mode, which allow us to create whatever images we want, as well as previously featured social services that we can use to publish our works through Miiverse and social networks.

This time the player leads the German or the Russian army in the battles taking place near the eponymous Mius river during 1943. The game offers two large-scale military operations, the course of which is influenced by the decisions made by the player and the game's advanced AI. Gameplay of Graviteam Tactics Mius-Front consists of two modes - in the turn-based mode you can relocate your army, take care of supplies, and replace lost units; in the tactical, real-time mode you lead the army during battles. The creators ensured that the game includes truthful recreation of authentic terrain and realistic performance of tanks and other vehicles. The creators also developed an advanced ballistic system that recognizes such factors as wind direction and temperature.

Another installment in a series of popular RPGs brought by Nintendo and created specifically for Wii U. The player is taken to the Prism island - a place which was once very beautiful but is now losing its colors for unknown reasons. Mario's task is to discover the source of this terrible situation and save the island. The game offers interesting mechanics that distinguish this title from other role-playing games. The player is required to color blank spots in the game world, but to do so, Mario needs to equip a special hammer. Hitting things with it results in colors being restored in the area, characters getting revived and prisoners released. For doing all of this, the player is given golden coins. Interestingly, the player is engaged in coloring even in combat, but instead of coloring parts of the game world, special cards become their targets, representing different kinds of attacks. In terms of visuals, the game combines three-dimensional environments with flat, "paper" characters. Paper Mario: Color Splash is a very colorful game as its very title suggests, resembling in this aspect other games featuring the famous plumber.

It also expands the game by two new characters: Greedo and Nien Nunba – both are well known to fans of the original movie trilogy. We also get a brand new game mode called Extraction, in which the Rebel forces must see to it that a valuable shipment of resources gets safely delivered to their transport ship, whereas the Empire aims to prevent that from happening. On top of that there are two new weapons and three extra Star Cards: Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim.

The authors mixed real events with folk legends, creating an engaging story. When it comes to mechanics, Vampire Legends is a traditional adventure game intertwined by hidden object sections. During the game, we explore static locations, converse with encountered characters, gather items, and solve logic puzzles. Additionally, we need to make decisions that influence the plot, influencing the final outcome of the story.

The main task of the player is to efficiently manage resources such as food, water, energy, clear air, garbage, metals or building materials. In addition to bunker expansion, one must also systematically develop new technologies. A system of random events makes the game more unpredictable. It can cause diseases, infections, power outages, and various other emergencies.
