A new installment in a popular series of turn-based games, created as a joint effort of Byzantine Games and The Lords Games. The game takes us to Europe during the age of pike and shot (1494 – 1698), introducing three separate campaigns encompassing 40 historical battles from the Thirty Years’ War, the English Civil War, and the series of conflicts between Austria and Ottoman Empire, including Siege of Vienna. Additionally, the game introduces a “skirmish” mode which creates a fictional campaign taking place on randomly generated maps. The gameplay in Pike and Shot: Campaigns 1494-1698 does not differ much from its predecessor. Players control a chosen nation, engaging in tactical battles requiring a number of strategic decisions which can influence the course of the whole campaign. Victories, as well as defeats contribute to mental state and battle readiness of our soldiers. Aside from a single player mode, the developers introduced a multiplayer module employing PBEM++ system. The game employs high-quality visuals, inspired by battle scenes from that era.

A turn-based strategy developed by Byzantine Games and The Lordz Games Studio. The game takes the players to 16th and 17th century Europe, an age when melee weaponry began to be slowly replaced by firearms. We can take part in three conflicts: Italian Wars, Thirty Years’ War, or the English Civil War. In all, we are given 10 historical battles, in which we control forces the size of a battalion and larger. Each battlefield was recreated using historical sources, while the available units correspond to real banners from that era. The key to success is to employ adequate tactics for each encounter, while the decisions made by the players have an utmost influence over the whole continent. The game offers five difficulty levels and a PBEM multiplayer mode. The visual side was based on the authentic battle scenes from the era.

A mobile action-adventure game created by Blindflug Studios, focusing on survival-related gameplay mechanics. The plot in Cloud Chasers takes on the difficult subject of illegal immigration, presenting it however, in the unusual form of an allegory that employs fantasy elements. The game is set in a steampunk land of deserts that has been in decline because of the greedy residents of flying towns. The player assumes the role of a father who raises his daughter on his own. Facing starvation and inevitable death, he decides to risk everything and sneak inside one of the levitating towns. The protagonist's goal is to make his way through five great deserts - each of those has slightly different difficulties for the player to overcome and challenges to conquer. Completing the challenges requires the player to search for resources, manage their supplies, as well as be able to deal with different threats and random events during numerous arcade sequences. The player's choices have a significant influence on the course of the adventure.

A 2D arcade platformer game with hack’n’slash elements, developed by the indie studio Zoink Games, best known for its highly-absurd production Stick it to the Man!. The action of Zombie Vikings begins in the moment when the mischievous god Loki decides to steal the last, magical eye of Odin, who in turn resurrects four disgusting zombie-Vikings and tasks them with reclaiming the stolen item. In the game we can play the role of one of the four playable characters, each of which has different skills at their disposal; the skills can also be upgraded by means of special runes. The heroes can choose from a sizeable arsenal of around 40 weapon types, which are differentiated not only by their unique names but also their usage (e.g. the ability to use vomiting or chopped off heads of enemies). Zombie Vikings is filled with irrational, absurd comedy and is most enjoyable when played in local co-op mode, in which the players can combine their characters into one, giant zombie-Viking.

The plot is based on historical events and the game tells a story of a secret combat squad of volunteers standing up for China against Japan's aggression. The game is characterized by arcade flight physics, focusing on spectacular aerial acrobatics and shooting in the TrazerTime mode which slows down the passage of time. Faithfully recreated Far-Eastern setting and a set of fighter planes belonging to the American, British and Japanese air forces are definitely strong features of the game. It is also worth noticing that the game offers dynamically changing weather conditions, which affects the air battles. The game features a standard single player campaign and several multiplayer modes for up to 16 players in one session.

A mobile turn-based strategy game, created by the team responsible for Swap Heroes. The game is distributed in a free-to-play mode with optional microtransactions. In Swap Cops, we take control of a group of futuristic police officers, battling dangerous criminals. Our team can include twelve heroes, each having unique abilities. Similarly to Swap Heroes, the game is focused around turn-based battles with more and more powerful waves of enemies. What makes the title stand out among other turn-based games is the fact that before each round, the player can make one change in the team roster, while the heroes attack and defend themselves on their own. Despite its appearances, this automatization doesn’t make the game easy, as heroes have many unique abilities, with their positioning being an important factor. Additionally, we cannot afford any manpower losses, and each dead police officer forces us to repeat the battle. Swap Cops is a single-player only title, with online rankings being the only substitute for multiplayer mode. The game sports old-school 2D visuals, with a top-down.

A simplistic arcade game requiring the player to throw spears at incoming enemies. This is the debut of Lichthund - an independent Polish developer. The game is set in the far future and the world itself was inspired by Germanic mythology, which is combined here with elements of science fiction and abstract humor. The player assumes the role of a bright-haired warrior who traverses this fantasy world and fights mythological creatures. Throwing bright spears at enemies approaching from the right side of the screen is the core element of the game. The player's objective here is to hit the target before it manages to reach the protagonist. The gameplay is diversified with special powers, such as the rainfall of luminous spears that encompasses the entire map. Powers such as this one can be upgraded alongside progression. Subsequent locations are highly diverse, as is the bestiary here. From time to time, the player encounters powerful bosses - defeating them requires application of adequate tactics. Lichtspeer stands out with its interesting graphic style, which is made of two-dimensional objects and bright colors.

An unusual arcade game from the South Korean studio Bulosodeuk. The story focuses on items that have spent too much time on the shelves of One Hundred Denarii shop. They come to life after the owner leaves and share with each other the stories about their previous incarnations. This lets us follow a pot which used to be a shuriken or a cleaver that was made out of a ball’s remains. Redden presents the players with 33 locations from various historical periods, with each mission starting with a shot bullet that we control. Our task is to avoid obstacles by using wind and accelerating. Even though our main objective is to reach the end of the level and destroy certain object, there are also optional objects to destroy, as well as characters that we don’t have to kill. Each type of bullet has different properties in the form of special powers that can make our task easier. All of this is presented in pleasant, two-dimensional visuals, which are quite unique due to their colorful backgrounds that contrast with black objects in the foreground.

If two tiles that represent the same action border on each other, their effect will be enhanced. This is complemented by the presence of various potions and equipment we collect throughout the game. You can not only play as the main character, but also as his friends, including Tails the Fox and Knuckles. The levels, called “episodes” in-game, are endless, although you can progress to the next one after earning a certain amount of points. Every character has a special ability, which helps them overcome obstacles (e.g. Sonic can triple-jump and Knuckles is super-strong, which makes him hit harder). The game features nicely designed maps full of platforms, enemies, and obstacles, making it more difficult to break records. You can find many collectibles and fight various bosses. The characters can be upgraded (they have three statistics: speed, strength, and acrobatics) and unlocked. The game's beautiful 2.5D was inspired by classic 8-bit and 16-bit console productions. The game was withdrawn from distribution due to a too aggressive business model.

Another game by Tomorrow Corporation, combining the mechanics of logic games with a rather serious topic (rarely occurs in the genre) and unique visuals. The player assumes the role of a corporate worker who begins their long way to the top, having taken up the lowest job position on the 1st floor. Each in-game level represents a year of work in the corporation, when the protagonist has to complete a certain task from their superior. To achieve this however, the player has to automatize certain actions using simple in-game programming. The tasks require the player to solve puzzles with numbers on particular pieces, as well as create the right combinations in order to reach the score needed. Human Resource Machine stands out both with an original concept, but also its surrealist visuals and story, which delivers a satire on the modern, corporate world.

Wartile is an RTS with elements of card and board games. The game takes place in a dark fantasy world inspired by the Norse mythology. We control a party of vikings on a raid. Gameplay focuses on real-time battles between groups of warriors. Each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses, and the key to victory lies in taking advantage of them. Another important gameplay element is the deck of cards built by the players. Those cards will not only power up our warriors, but also activate both offensive and defensive actions. Cards also play an important role in exploration. Battles take place on three-dimensional maps that are divided into hexagonal tiles, and lay of the land, which is an important tactical element that should be taken under consideration when we are preparing our strategy. As a result, Wartile brings to mind a turn-based strategy that somehow takes place in real-time. Along with the story driven campaign Wartile offers a multiplayer mode. The game uses Unreal Engine 4.

It’s set in 18th century England, with players acting as a young aristocrat, one Lady Cornelia Darkmoor, who in her spare time transforms into a masked robber, the titular Shadowhand. The game is a narrative adventure game, so we move between locations and learn the story of the heroine. However, there are card game features as well, in the form of different variants of solitaire. This results in around 200 duels, which will let us collect many useful items and weapons. Shadowhand uses static, but pleasant visuals, somewhat resembling the casual titles from the hidden object genre.

Mobile real time strategy game from C4M Productions. Its story takes us to unique fantasy land, surely filled with magic and sentient races, but in terms of development it is far behind even medieval times, with numerous societies in form of primitive tribes’ settlements. We play as chief of one such settlement, trying to gain new terrains for our people while also fending off attacks of barbarian nation called Skulls. So we must watch over development of our village, researches of new technologies and battles against small troops of the enemy, with our armies being led by heroes with special skills who also level up throughout a game. There is also a multiplayer mode, though rather unusual one: defenders prepare battle plans that are fulfilled by artificial intelligence, while attackers play in real time trying to find flaws in opponent’s strategy.

Arcade, Singleplayer.
An arcade game by Fixpoint Productions. You play as an inventor, who succeeded in building a jetpack. Before he shares his invention with the world, however, he needs to test it. The gameplay of Piloteer is set in various locations, and it focuses on increasingly complex challenges. Although the control system is relatively easy (virtual buttons on each side of the screen control the particular engines), the protagonist himself is quite immobile, which impacts the difficulty — one bad move may end in a crash. The game is pleasant to the eye — the visuals resemble a collage made from colorful paper, and the distinct ragdoll effect adds a bit of humor.

An adventure game developed by the British Inertia Software studio, classified as a representative of the "escape the room" sub-genre. The game is set in the eponymous Facility 47 - a secret research facility located in the Antarctic. The game's protagonist wakes up in a cell having no clue about neither his own identity nor the actions that led him there. His task is to escape, first the cell, then the facility, and survive. The greatest threat are the exceptionally low temperatures that force him to act quick if he is to keep himself alive. The exploration in Facility 47 is limited to a bare minimum and the majority of the game's locations are closed, confined spaces where the player has to find a way to remove obstacles and/or open locked door. In order to do so, the player needs to carefully search every location he visits, hoping to find some useful items, and solve numerous logic puzzles.

Celebrity life simulator developed by the Glu Mobile company. We play the part of a young person who wants to become a pop star, and although the road to this goal is anything but nice and simple, during the game we can count on the support of Katy Perry herself. One of the most important features of gameplay is taking care of our character's appearance, dressing him or her up in costumes acquired in the course of the game. Of course, to become known in the world of music, we also need to record songs, film music videos, and perform in front of an audience at live concerts. At any moment in the game we can use a special Katy Vision option, that shows us the world of show business in the way Katy sees it. Katy Perry Pop features colorful cartoon graphics and extensive social aspects, allowing us to track the progress of our friends and mutually help each other in our careers.

A realistic online fishing simulator developed by keen anglers at Fishing Planet LLC. The game is free-to-play, although it offers optional DLCs to purchase. We can go fishing on one of seven faithfully modeled fisheries with different climactic conditions, terrain shape and vegetation. There is also a large variety of professional fishing equipment available at our disposal, including boats and kayaks. We can hone our skills alone or in the multiplayer mode by participating in online fishing tournaments, inspired by their most famous real life counterparts. One of the distinguishing features of Fishing Planet is the advanced artificial intelligence of 40 available fish species, closely correlated to the current conditions. An undeniable advantage of the game is the high quality of its visuals, offering realistically modeled water surface, year and day cycle, as well as dynamically changing weather.
