A remake of the action platformer game Gunstar Heroes from 1993, developed by the Japanese studio M2. The player is taken to a fantasy world where the two main protagonists (Gunstar Red and Gunstar Blue) fought Golden Silver, a sinister robot. Neutralization of the antagonist was possible thanks to the heroes hiding away the four diamonds that gave him power. The peace didn’t last for long, though, as Colonel Red, who took control over the mind of the protagonists’ older brother, Green, intends to restore the evil machine. Our task is obviously to thwart the plans of the ruthless evildoer. In 3D Gunstar Heroes, the player can combine up to four weapons to create powerful combos that wreak havoc on enemy ranks. The title also introduces Mega Life Mode that doubles the base hit points, as well as the possibility of selecting the targeting mode — apart from aiming while standing still, we can also choose a control pattern that lets us aim while in motion. Beside the single player mode, the production offers a local cooperation multiplayer. The game’s graphics were significantly improved in comparison to the original, although we can still launch the production with a special emulator that imitates the gameplay on a CRT display.

During our travels, our way will be crossed by numerous opponents, including orcs, dark elves, or various sea monsters living in its depths. The developers introduced a number of other immersive features, including a dynamic weather system or a day and night cycle.

Its only goal is to take revenge for the insult that its members have suffered at our hands so they aren’t very friendly to us. Our task is to stay alive as long and possible and fart on as many people as we can, thanks to which we gain points. In Talisman: The Horus Heresy, the players assume the role of one of 8 playable characters divided into two groups: the loyalists or the traitors and take command of one division of Space Marines. The gameplay mechanics employ the solutions of the Talisman series, although the scale is incomparably bigger because the board spans across the entire galaxy.

Created for mobile devices spin-off version of the popular Metal Gear series. The action of the game was set in the realities of the console Metal Gear Solid 4, and during the game we play as a character known to fans of the series hero, who thanks to aging gained a new nickname Old Snake. However, the mechanics of the game has been greatly simplified and devoid of stealth elements, and the game itself is a rather static shooting, in which we eliminate the opponents appearing in different parts of the screen, hiding behind the covers.

Another installment in the series of casual puzzle games created by King.com. Candy Crush Jelly Saga is based on the popular match-3 mechanics and, similarly to previous installments of the series, features no storyline, focusing entirely on gameplay. The objective of the game is to conquer more than a hundred available levels by creating sets of at least three candies of the same type out of many more shown on the screen. In contrast to most other match-3 games, the levels aren’t randomly generated – instead, each of them is a carefully-planned logical challenge with candies placed in specific places and featuring unique map shapes. The gameplay is more varied thanks to the boss fights, during which the player must complete additional objectives. The game provides also means for competition between friends through internet rankings.

Deer Hunter 2016 is yet another game in the Deer Hunter series developed by Glu Mobile. Like the previous installments, Deer Hunter 2016 is a first-person hunting game in which the player hunts various animals: bears, crocodiles, lynx, and others. We have to track the prey down before we can shoot it. You have to take under consideration the fact that some animals are meek and easily-frightened, and others will attack you. Because of that, gameplay is not always the same in Deer Hunter 2016. In their search for more trophies, the players travel to different parts of the world, like Alaska or Zimbabwe. During the hunt, you can use a wide range of munitions. The available hunting rifles can be additionally modified with gun sights, magazines, and other useful upgrades. For a mobile game, Deer Hunter 2016 visuals are quite impressive. Various environments are diversified and quite detailed, and the animal models, and their animation, present a high build quality. The gameplay mechanics are typical for a classical point-and-click production and boil down to visiting subsequent locations in search of useful items that are necessary to solve puzzles. While playing, we have to exhibit considerable amounts of ingenuity, imagination, perceptiveness, and deductions skills. Except all of it is fake, and all the characters we meet turn out to be AI-controlled NPCs. Obviously, the game focuses on microtransactions, which we encounter at every step. Fortunately, although the counter of the money we spent is present all the time, we have access to an unlimited supply of virtual currency.

Another noteworthy feature is the punishment system — should a character who has killed many rivals die, he loses more valuable equipment than the others.

Adventure, Puzzle Elements, FPP, Singleplayer.
An adventure game developed by the British Inertia Software studio, classified as a representative of the "escape the room" sub-genre. The game is set in the eponymous Facility 47 - a secret research facility located in the Antarctic. The game's protagonist wakes up in a cell having no clue about neither his own identity nor the actions that led him there. His task is to escape, first the cell, then the facility, and survive. The greatest threat are the exceptionally low temperatures that force him to act quick if he is to keep himself alive. The exploration in Facility 47 is limited to a bare minimum and the majority of the game's locations are closed, confined spaces where the player has to find a way to remove obstacles and/or open locked door. In order to do so, the player needs to carefully search every location he visits, hoping to find some useful items, and solve numerous logic puzzles.

Party, Internet, Meta Quest / Oculus, Multiplayer, Music, Singleplayer, VR.
A spin-off of a popular music game series developed over the years by Harmonix Music Systems. The largest novelty which distinguishes Rock Band VR from the main installments is obviously the support of Virtual Reality goggles. Subsequent performances are viewed here from the first-person perspective. Apart from that, however, the Rock Band gameplay formula remains unchanged. Once again, the player assumes the roles of individual rock band members in order to play the part of a drummer, guitarist or a singer, trying to recreate a given song to the best of their ability through pressing adequate buttons at the right time and linking them into combinations by doing so. The better the quality of one's performance, the larger the score. What is also worth noticing, is that members of a power metal band DragonForce took part in both the game's production process and its commercial campaign.

The second installment in the series of episodic adventure games developed by Telltale Games – the creators of games like The Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us. The game picks up the plot of its predecessor – the story once again focuses on House Forrester, the members of which are trying to recover after the events of the first game. The story is again told from a few different perspectives. In addition to well known characters, completely new ones appear in the game. As in previous games developed by this studio, the gameplay focuses on the story and on the necessity to make various decisions that determine the path of current and further episodes. It is possible to import saved games from the first season and decisions made there will impact the game.

RPG, 2D, Beat 'em Up, Fantasy, Indie Games, jRPG, Side-scroll, Singleplayer, PlayStation Exclusive.
A side-scrolling jRPG with strong elements of classic beat'em up. Fallen Legion was developed by an American studio YummyYummyTummy. The game came out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; the two versions differ mainly in terms of story. Fallen Legion is set in a fantasy world and the player is taken to the Kingdom of Fenumia, which falls from glory due to the king's premature death. His daughter (the protagonist in the PS4 version), tries to cope with the problem and goes on a long and dangerous journey in order to bring peace and safety to her subjects. This is obviously noticed by Legatus Laendur (the protagonist in the PSV version), who's lust for power makes him try to take control of Fenumia in her absence. The core of the experience is constituted by fighting enemies in a real-time combat system. The key to success is to make a good use of the individual abilities of the controlled characters, apart from being able to skillfully combine attacks of the entire team into complex combos; however, having quick reflexes is also needed. Furthermore, the player has to make more and less important decisions many times - those influence the course of the story and what the game world looks like. All of this is complemented by eye-pleasing, hand-painted 2D visuals.

Adventure, 2D, Cyberpunk, Point-and-click, Science Fiction, Singleplayer.
A classic adventure game developed by independent studio MidBoss. Assuming the role of a journalist, the player finds himself in cyberpunk Neo-San Francisco of 2064 and conducts an investigation so as to find the creator of the machine called Turing – the world’s first Artificial Intelligence with self-consciousness and an ability to think independently. The setting is retrofuturistic – the creators have drawn inspirations from the 1980s’ vision of the future. The effect is magnified by old-school 8-bit graphics. Gameplay in Read Only Memories comes down to world exploration, chatting with various characters, and solving puzzles. From time to time, the player needs to complete arcade sequences consisting in fighting enemies or sneaking past guards. The way the story develops largely depends on the player’s actions and their decisions, which lead to different plot branches.

Arcade, Experimental/artistic, Meta Quest / Oculus, Music, PlayStation VR, Rail Shooter, Remaster/remake, Singleplayer, SteamVR, VR.
A refreshed version of the cult-classic rhythm game from 2001. The new edition, developed by Enhance Games studio lead by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, has been adapted to make use of virtual reality goggles, but a traditional gameplay is also available. Aside from the content present in the original game, the developers added a new location, called Area X. In Rez Infinite, the player’s task is to remove the effects of a malfunction inside an advanced AI called Eden. The game mixes the gameplay of so called rail shooters, with elements of rhythm games. As a result, we don’t control the direction where our character is headed – all we have to do is to mark groups of elements appearing on the screen, which explode, generating various audio-visual effects. The abstract visuals, characteristic of the original title, have been adapted to modern standards.
