The gameplay focuses on exploring the environment, completing main quests and side quests, as well as fighting enemies in turn-based combat. The mechanics of the game are typical for classic Japanese RPGs in which the player is exploring, completing quests, speaking with other characters and fighting the enemies in a turn-based system. The combat is important since defeating the Guardians enables the player to make them join his party and the gameplay is focused mostly on collecting and developing them.

Once again, the development works were carried out by Hailstorm Games. The game still offers a two-dimensional environment and pixel-art graphics. However, the creators managed to implement both 3D objects and depth of field effects. Both the plot and mechanics remain unchanged, thus the protagonist, the titular teenager, faces both monsters and demons from her past when exploring the building of a haunted school. For the most part, the player traverses the game world, managing their equipment and avoiding direct contact with the enemies. Importantly, an in-game fear meter constantly monitors the player's actions - when it reaches maximum, the protagonist can die.

The players assume the role of white and black vehicles that move on the surface of a monochromatic map resembling a chessboard. What is the most important here, the machines can remain only on squares of the opposite color - the missiles they launch change the color of the squares they hit, creating paths the vehicles can take. Apart from that, enemies using the same kind of weapon can be found throughout the levels. Therefore, the player has to constantly remain in control of the situation, preventing the enemy from both hitting the player's machine and cutting off its escape route. The game offers both single player and multiplayer modes - in the latter case, both co-op and competitive modes were included. What is characteristic about Inversus, is that the game's 2D visuals are minimalistic, which makes it easier to control the battlefield.

The mobile Lunar Battle is a modern interpretation of an Atari’s game of the same title that was released for arcade machines in 1982. This time around, it is an interesting combination of a strategy production and a shooter. The player’s task is to build a human colony in space and defend it from alien invaders. To do so, we gather resources, erect new buildings, and satisfy the population’s needs, controlling our budget in the process. A large amount of our funds has to be spent on armaments, including weapons for workers and spaceships. The latter we can control directly. In combat against aliens, the gameplay resembles classical shooters from arcade machines in which we control a ship and shoot incoming enemies. It is also possible to fight PvP battles on special arenas.

Another installment in a series of logic games; it was created specifically for Nintendo 3DS. The player's goal here is to paint appropriate cubes in such a way so that models hidden inside of them can be revealed. The game was based on the rules of a puzzle created by Non Ishida - a Japanese graphics designer. Although the gameplay resembles Minesweeper for PC, the environments are three-dimensional. Blocks can be rotated freely and digits that are visible on particular cubes (the blocks are made of those) inform the player about the number of neighboring cubes they should paint with a given color. If cubes get painted in the correct color, they disappear, revealing a fragment of the model hidden inside the block. Managing to color the entire block of cubes correctly results in the entire model being revealed to the player, which can represent characters created by Nintendo for example. In Picross 3D Round 2, two new colors were added, as well as more complex models hidden in particular puzzles. The game supports the Amiibo protocol, thus the player can digitalize the figurines they own.

In time, the adventurers operating those ships received a new name - cloud pirates. We play as one of them. Gameplay in Cloud Pirates focuses on air battles. Nothing stands in our way if we want to play as a lone wolf, but it is more reasonable to form squadrons and search for the remnants of the old Sarnaut as a group. Defeating more powerful enemies requires us to use our team members individual traits and our joint forces. Ships we can use differ in terms of the design, weaponry, stats, and maneuverability. Victories unlock access to upgrades (not only for our ship, but also for our crew), additional munitions, and unique combat abilities. The biggest highlight of Dragon Ball: Fusions is the titular fusion of several characters into one powerful fighter, with the game introducing a gigantic number of less or more probable fusions.

An RPG from the dungeon crawler genre, developed by the independent studio Goblinz. Players are taken to fantasy world filled with dungeons to explore, treasures to find and monsters to defeat. At the same time, Dungeon Rusher offers a humorous approach to classic heroic fantasy tropes. We lead a party of adventurers, who must defeat a lord of darkness, dwelling in the deepest dungeon. Our team will consist of a shaman, an archeress, a warlike dwarf and a bard. Gameplay comes down to exploring and fighting enemies as we travel through two-dimensional map. When we meet hostile creatures, we are taken on the battlefield and engage in turn-based combat, which requires proper positioning of our fighters and wise use of their abilities. We also find many items, including weaponry, and there are crafting and trading systems. Aside from single player campaign, Dungeon Rushers offers a multiplayer mode to fight against other players.

Action, Indie Games, Metroidvania, Platformers, Roguelike, Singleplayer.

An action platformer game with roguelike and metroidvania elements, developed by the indie studio Hikergames. In Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found we step into the shoes of an animated toy hero named Brand, who is actively fighting with the forces of darkness that want to take control over his owner. To defeat evil, our protagonist has to uncover the secrets of the family home and discover some facts about his own past. The action of the game is presented from a side-view camera angle, and the gameplay revolves around several core segments. The most important of said segments is the exploration of procedurally generated locations, which can prove quite challenging due to various dangers and puzzles, which have been integrated into the environment. Over 300 unique enemies will stand in the way of our protagonist, including several powerful bosses, that will require us to devise the appropriate strategy to defeat them. All of the above is further diversified by a crafting system, as well as character development, which allows our hero to gain new, useful abilities on his adventures.

RPG, Dungeon Crawler, Fantasy, Classic RPG, Post-apocalypse, Singleplayer, Tactics, Turn-based, Isometric View.

A tactical cRPG, created by Iron Tower – an independent studio, responsible for the highly-praised Age of Decadence. The player enters a fantasy universe, known from the previous games from the studio, connecting Roman Empire stylistics with post-apocalyptic fantasy. In this installment, we assume the role of a prisoner sentenced to spend the rest of his life as a slave in an enormous mine. His only hope is fighting his way back to the surface. The gameplay in Dungeon Rats focuses around combat, with each encounter being unique and directed manually. The battles are turn-based, and the key to success lies not only in using the hero’s abilities, but also in making use of your companions. Our party can hold up to four adventurers, but the acquired experience points are split up between all members – a more numerous party translates into slower growth of the individual heroes. The game is characteristic for its high difficulty level – even the easiest one may prove to be difficult for many players.

Adventure, 2D, Arcade Elements, Indie Games, Platformers, Singleplayer.

A game developed by an indie studio, ThroughLine Games, that combines elements of point-and-click and platform games. In Forgotten Anne the players step into a fantasy world of Forgotten Lands, inhabited by creatures that were created out of abandoned everyday objects. When a rebellion rises, our main heroine, who works as an enforcer, needs to stop the riots and bring back the balance and peace. Her master, Bonku, aids the girl in this quest. The action is presented from a side perspective. The gameplay mechanic, which the game borrows from the platformer genre, is the character movement, which means that we need to climb and jump on platforms. The plot and puzzles are the game's most interesting features during world exploration. The girl can use the help of a mysterious stone, Arca, to solve those puzzles. The stone has an ability that allows it to control both living creatures as well as machines. Everything is presented in visually attractive cartoonish graphics, resembling the visual style employed by studio Ghibli.

A mobile 2D platform game developed by Donut Games, the creators of the successful Traps n’ Gemstones. Vulture Island tells a story about an adventure of four children, who as a result of a malfunction of their flying machine are stranded on a mysterious island. What is worse, with all the confusion, one of the children – the designer of the machine – has disappeared, and the rest needs to find him. When it comes to the gameplay, Vulture Island is a typical two-dimensional platform game – we move to the right side of the screen, avoid dangers, and defeat enemies. We gather gold coins along the way, which then can be spent on better weaponry and useful story items, such as a ticket allowing the heroes to move to the next area. The game world is divided into separate locations that can be accessed from the map – there, we can also visit shops, take up various quests, or switch between the heroes. Vulture Island’s visuals are based on retro stylistics, sharing certain similarities with the games from 16-bit consoles.

During the game, our character runs automatically to the right and our goal is to lead him through dozens of various levels and avoid numerous traps by either jumping over or sliding under them. As usual for this series, all actions are performed accordingly to music's rhythm. Each action creates a sound and the soundtrack's tempo determines how fast our hero runs and the number of hazards that await him.

Created by The Aristocrats, an expansion pack for Order of Battle: World War II. Most importantly, Blitzkrieg introduces new units for Germans (Panzer III and IV tanks as well as planes - Bf109, Fw190, and other weapons, such as the 88mm anti-aircraft cannon) and Allies (Matilda and Char B1 tanks, the legendary Spitfire fighter plane, as well as armored trains). Furthermore, the expansion includes a story campaign based on historical events - it comprises 12 scenarios in total. Among the novelties, one will find a system of specializations that for instance, allows the player to familiarize their tank drivers with the Auftragstaktik doctrine or create Waffen SS divisions. Particular units gain experience on the battlefield and can be transferred both between separate scenarios and entire campaigns. Both the visuals and the gameplay formula remain unchanged in the expansion. As a result, the game is still all about turn-based battles taking place on maps filled with hexagons.
