A science-fiction RPG title based on tabletop role-playing game Cyberpunk. This production was developed by CD Projekt RED studio – the team who gained worldwide acclaim thanks to its successful The Witcher series – actively supported by the co-writer of the original system, Mike Pondsmith. The story takes you to the year 2077, featuring technically advanced, albeit corrupted world of the future. The game is set in Night City, a place known well to the fans of Cyberpunk universe, where ominous intrigues and secrets thrive. While exploring the game’s open world, you learn the complex, multi-threaded narrative through numerous dialogues, which often put you up against tough moral choices. Classes and character progression system, combat model, as well as dozens of in-game augmentations were inspired of the original role-playing system. The visual side of the game is built on enhanced version of Red engine, previously used in The Witcher 3.

A remake of the 1994's System Shock. The original game was developed by Looking Glass Studios and is considered a classic of the genre, combining shooter mechanics with RPG elements in a cyberpunk setting. This new edition was created by Night Dive Studios, known for the 2015's enhanced edition of the same game. System Shock Remake recreates the original story, taking the player to the Citadel space station. As an experienced hacker, the protagonist has to face Shodan - an artificial intelligence in control of the station. The gameplay mechanics of the original game remain at the core of this edition. Thus the game combines first-person shooter mechanics with elements of RPG and an extensive hacking system. Most of changes the remake brings are related to the visuals. These were made from scratch, in cooperation with Rob Waters - the level designer of the original game. Both the interface and controls were heavily reworked, in order for them to follow the standards of modern FPS.

The fourth major installment in a popular cyberpunk action-RPG series. The game was developed by Eidos Montreal, who previously developed two other parts of the cycle, as well as the 2014 reboot of the cult Thief franchise. The game is set 2 years after the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The player again assumes the role of an Interpol agent, Adam Jensen, who fights criminal organizations in different parts of the world. In accordance with the tradition of the series, gameplay is non-linear, allowing the player to choose the ways of dealing with in-game problems: from open confrontation to stealth approach. As compared with the previous game, this time you have access to twice as many biochips and special abilities that are gradually unlocked throughout the gameplay. Another vital element are the consequences of your choices – all your actions and conversations can bear consequences later in the game.

A psychological first-person horror from the Polish developer studio Bloober Team, known best for another horror game, entitled Layers of Fear. Observer is set in a cyberpunk universe, in Cracow of 2048. In the game you play as Daniel Lazarski (starred by Rutger Hauer, known from the film Blade Runner), a detective able to hack into people’s minds. The game’s story starts when the main hero gets a letter from his missing son, who turns out to be a high-ranking engineer working for a powerful corporation. The protagonist picks up an investigation that takes him to the slums of Cracow and forces him to relive dark memories and nightmares of both criminals and their victims. When it comes to gameplay, Observer is a first-person adventure game with survival horror mechanics. Most of the time the player explores grim locations and interacts with characters encountered on the way. An important aspect of gameplay are sequences in which the protagonist hacks into the minds of suspects and becomes part of their worst nightmares.

The third installment in a series of cyberpunk action games with RPG elements. The franchise was launched in the year 2000 by Ion Storm, led at the time by Warren Spector. The reactivation of the series was made possible by the Eidos Montreal studio. Story-wise, the game is a prequel to the original series, taking us back to the year 2027, when Sarif Industies only begins to explore the possibilities of biomechanical augmentation of the human body. You assume the role of Adam Jensen, the company's chief of security, who gets seriously injured when an unidentified armed force suddenly attack the company HQ. Saved by a series of surgeries and mechanical implants, he decides to investigate the puzzling truth behind the events. Gameplay boils down to combat, exploration, and interactions with the environment. Of course, there are the also series’ landmark features, such as sneaking and hacking mini-games. Depending on the augmentations you choose to implant in the hero’s body and the skills they provide, each in-game problem can be solved in several different ways.

As compared with the first game in the series, this one features noticeably improved graphics and many user interface enhancements. Furthermore, Matrix - the cyberspace that allows player to manipulate the real world - and its functionality have been thoroughly overhauled.

The title was created by Spiders, an experienced developer, whose other works include Bound by Flame, Of Orcs and Men, and Faery: Legends of Avalon. The game takes us back to the universe known from the previous game, where technology and magic coexist, and rivaling factions fight over water supplies. The player becomes a young technomancer – a representative of the cast of genetically modified warriors, who guard the ancient knowledge of their forefathers. His task is to find some precious artifacts from the Earth. You can join one of 6 playable factions, each possessing their own strengths and weaknesses that have significant influence on the way you play them. Gameplay mechanics are not much different from the ones used in Mars: War Logs. The main difference is that The Technomancer offers more complex story missions with lots of secondary plots.

State of Mind presents a grim prediction on the future of mankind struggling with unending wars, shrinking resources and governments establishing their regimes. The player assumes the role of a man who decides to abandon the physical world along with his family through the digitalization of human consciousness and settle in a utopian, virtual environment known as City 5. Unfortunately however, something goes wrong when the data transfer is being made and the player's task is to help the protagonist to finish the transfer and rejoin his family. In terms of the mechanics, State of Mind is a typical adventure game requiring the player to explore the in-game environments, talk to other characters, collect items and solve puzzles. The player takes on the roles of several different characters undergoing mutual interactions.

The third installment in the series of adventure games started in 1999 with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Dreamfall: Chapters was developed by Red Thread Games led by Ragnar Tornquist. The story of the game presents further adventures of the young protagonist, Zoe Castillo, who thanks to her highly unusual powers is able to travel between three worlds: the magical Arcadia, the technologically advanced Stark and the mysterious Storytime. Since it is a traditional adventure game, the gameplay focuses on such features like item gathering, conversations with non-playable characters and riddle solving. Despite the rather small budget of the game, developers of Dreamfall: Chapters have created attractive visuals generated by using the popular Unity Engine.

System Shock 2 brings a continuation to a an acclaimed action game featuring RPG elements, combining classic science-fiction elements with cyberpunk. The second installment was once again created by Looking Glass, this time however, supported by Irrational Games. The game is set 40 years after the events depicted in the original System Shock, when the UNN military organization tries to limit the power of great corporations, using a state-of-the-art spaceship called Von Braun to do so. The player takes on the role of a volunteer who wakes up during the vessel's first flight and finds out that the crew is dead and the ship is overrun by dangerous mutants and rebellious robots. The mechanics of the original System Shock were changed to a certain degree - elements of action, role-playing and adventure games were complemented this time by a portion of features associated with the survival horror genre. Furthermore, the character development mechanics were expanded. The player chooses one of three available classes differing in skills they offer.

The gameplay mechanics of the game combine FPS, stealth and RPG features. Thanks to special nanotechnological augmentations the protagonist has inhuman abilities that can be gradually improved as the game progresses. Denton can use various weapons which can be also modified. The story of the game is non-linear, and depending on the choices made by the player it might led to one of three alternative endings.

An improved edition of Hard Reset - a cyberpunk first-person shooter developed by Flying Wild Hog (the creators of the successful Shadow Warrior remake). Although the original game (2011) was released exclusively for PCs, Hard Reset: Redux received console versions for the eighth generation of hardware as well. The game offers a journey to a grim world of the future, when the Earth has been almost entirely dominated by merciless robots who have devastated the planet. The player takes on the role of Major Fletcher, a war veteran with a task of defending the last remaining human outpost. The game offers fast-paced action and brutal combat sequences involving both regular enemies and powerful bosses. The player makes use of various types of futuristic firearms and a completely new weapon known as cyber-katana. What is new as well, is the ability to perform a quick dodge, which is useful while confronting larger groups of enemies. In addition to the original contents, Hard Reset: Redux features the Exile DLC expansion. The game offers both a story-based campaign and a survival mode, but the latter lacks the multiplayer component. The game utilizes the newest version of the RoadHog engine. As a result, it offers both better lighting and special effects, as well as faster loading time.

The player assumes the role of the leader of a group of scavengers exploring space stations and fighting hostile machines. Their main goal is to infiltrate a huge spaceship which was originally traveling to an unknown planet in order to colonize it. The gameplay mechanics were based on the classics of the genre - the action is viewed through the eyes of individual characters, who cannot rotate beyond 90 degrees at a time. The player explores procedurally generated locations, collects items, avoids traps and fights enemies in a typical, turn-based combat system. The team consists of four members, whose different skills have to be developed in such a way that they complement each other, for this is the key to success.

The third installment in the Fear Effect series of action games. Both the previous installments were released for the PlayStation console. The game was created by Kronos Digital Entertainment, under the auspices of Square Enix - the owner of the franchise. Contrary to its predecessors, Fear Effect Sedna is a tactical action game played from an isometric view and inspired by Shadowrun Returns - a role-playing game. The action takes place in a cyberpunk world featuring fantasy elements. This time, the characters from the previous installments explore mysterious locations and underground facilities of the frosty Greenland. During the story campaign, the player commands a team comprising up to five mercenaries, each having their own unique skills and specializations. The game offers a real-time combat system, but thanks to the implementation of active pause, the player is allowed to take their time when giving orders to individual units. Occasionally, the player is also obliged to solve puzzles. The third installment in the Fear Effect series offers old-school, cel-shaded graphics as usual.

An original action game set in a cyberpunk world and created by Dreadlocks - an independent, Czech studio. Dex mingles elements of classic platformers with role-playing mechanics; it was inspired by classic arcade titles, as well as the works of William Gibson. The game is set in Harbor Prime, where luxurious districts stand in contrast to the filth the poor live in. The player has to face a mysterious AI that has broken loose and wishes to make irreversible changes. The game is played on two planes, for the protagonist can switch between acting in the real world and in the cyberspace. When completing subsequent story missions, the player makes use of classic weapons, special abilities and useful gadgets. Dex offers melee combat as well, which resembles classic beat'em up productions. The visuals are a homage to the classic sci-fi platformers from the 1990s.
