Lies of P: How to defeat the Door Guardian boss?

Chapter XI in Lies of P is the last stage of the game, in which the first main boss will be the Door Guard. Fighting him is mandatory because after killing him, you will be able to continue exploring Arche Abbey and get closer to the end of the game. Where to find Door Guardian?

The Door Guardian is located near the Stargazer named Black Seaside. You will get there after the fight with Black Rabbit Brotherhood. When you are near the Stargazer, go straight ahead to the building. Watch out for the nearby ballistae, which will start shooting at you when you get within their range. Go up the stairs, there you will find the boss arena.

How to fight with Door Guardian?

He is a very durable opponent. He has a lot of health, and most of his body is covered with armor, which will reduce the damage you deal. Moreover, your attacks may bounce off him, which further complicates the fight.

The only weak point of the Door Guardian is his right leg. There is no armor on it. You will have to aim at it in order to inflict damage on the boss. It won't be too great, although after a few stronger hits the boss will fall on one knee.

The next time you deal a lot of damage to him, he will fall on his abdomen to the ground. Then, you can perform a Fatal Attack that will take almost half of his health bar. This means that two such deadly blows and a few attacks are enough to defeat the opponent.

Of course, the boss won't let you attack him without a fight. It will repeatedly stomp his feet to crush you. Luckily, his attacks are slow, though dangerous. When you see the boss lift his leg, jump back, and charge a strong attack, hitting his weak spot. Repeat this step until the boss performs the same offensive action over and over again.

The Door Guardian can also attack with his hands. Usually, he will lift them high only to hit the ground a moment later. This deals a lot of damage and also apply Shock status. If you receive it, your stamina will regenerate much slower, which may make it difficult to avoid his attacks.

A good idea is to provoke the boss to jump while keeping him at a distance. He is very predictable and he doesn't cover a great distance. If the attack doesn't hit you, it will stick its weapon in the ground and won't move for a few seconds. This is a perfect opportunity to attack him.

However, be careful not to move too far from him. He might then shorten the distance by rolling in your direction. This is a dangerous attack, and what's more, hard to avoid. The boss covers a great distance, so don't lose your guard even if you are far away from him.

It is important to remember to approach him from the side and get behind his back. Then he has to turn around toward you and lose a few precious seconds.
