To celebrate the game's release, Microsoft has put together a hilarious video showing off a modern-day trebuchet built by Tod's Workshop, which was used to launch a monitor, teddy bear and knight figure, among other things. The game is the first full-fledged new installment of the series since Age of Empires III, which was released in 2005. Over the past few years, however, fans of the brand could not complain about a lack of attractions, as Microsoft released refreshed versions of all installments, serving successively Age of Empires II: HD Edition (2013), Age of Empires : Definitive Edition (2018), Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (2019) and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. All of these productions were warmly received. Things were different with the free-to-play spin-off called Age of Empires Online, though, whose servers were shut down seven years ago. Even here, however, the game had dedicated fans who figured out a way to set up their own servers and remove microtransactions, and the result of this work, in the form of Project Celeste, is an excellent free-to-play RTS.
