Antonio Banderas Will Appear in Uncharted; New Director Confirmed

Thanks to Variety we found out that Antonio Banderas joined the cast of Uncharted. The production also has another (already seventh) director. The man is Ruben Fleischer, who worked on Venom, among others.

Uncharted is not due to go to cinemas until next year.

The filming for Uncharted is scheduled to start in the coming weeks, and another (already seventh) director has just been hired for the production. According to Variety , recent reports suggest that Ruben Fleischer (responsible for Venom, among others) is the one. We also found out that the following actors joined the cast: Antonio Banderas (known for his series of films about Zorro or Desperado), Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy) and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina). It is not yet clear what roles the new actors will play. Let us remind that the new planned premiere date of the film is March 5, 2021.

In the role of young Nathan Drake we will see Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home). Next to him, as Victor Sullivan, will appear Mark Wahlberg( Ted, Transformers: The Last Knight). In a recent interview for Steven Weintraub, (via Joblo) the actor said that Uncharted's script reminds him of such films as Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown's Affair. Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are responsible for the latest version of the plot.

"I start filming in about two weeks time. It’s exciting because, without giving too much away, it’s more of an origin story. Meeting them, and Nathan becoming Nathan. Sully and him meeting, trying to not only get over on each other, but also starting to partner up and develop that relationship. It’ll be very cool. It’s the first time I’m in a movie that’s a movie. I felt like when I was reading it, I was reading Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair. It’s got these great elements of these heist movies and adventure movies like I’ve never been a part of," said Wahlberg.
