Apple Gets Rid of Competing Headphones

Apple removes competing companies' products from its stores. This includes headsets and speakers from Bose, Sonos and Logitech. This could be the result of a planned expansion with its own audio products.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Apple pulls Logitech, Sonos, and Bose headphones and speakers from its offer.

Headset and wireless speaker from Sonos, Bose and Logitech were pulled from the offer of Apple stores, both online and physical. In salons, employees have been instructed to remove the products from the showrooms. This phenomenon was observed by Bloomberg editors. The company intends to introduce its own earphones and new speakers. It is likely that it therefore found similar products from other brands to be competitive.

This is not the first time Apple has done this. Similar "strategic" steps have been taken in the past - when the first Apple Watch was to be launched, similar FitBit accessories were removed from the offer. The products of Bowers & Wilkins and Bang & Olufsen suffered a similar fate.

Currently, only AirPods, EarPods and Beats models are available in the headphones category. The remaining speakers are Beats Pill+ and Pioneer's conference device.
