J.J. Abrams, the director responsible for the last two movie of the recent Star Wars trilogy, will create a new TV series for HBO Max, focusing on the adventures of the warlock John Constantine.
IN A NUTSHELL:
Hollywood Reporter informs that J.J. Abrams - director responsible for i.a. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker - will create a new show based on the Constantine comic book. The movie is to hit HBO Max next to the creator's other superhero project, Justice League Dark.
This won't be the first time that working-class warlock and "occult detective" John Constantine will hit the screens. In 2005, a decent film directed by Francis Lawrence was released, in which the character in question was played by Keanu Reeves. Almost a decade later we got a TV series in which the same character was played by Matt Ryan. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after only one season, but the character later appeared in a few series from the Arrowverse universe (The Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow).
As for the new work about John Constantine's adventures, we know virtually nothing for now. We can only wait for more information.
