Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty - Phone Bug; Mr Hands is not Calling Explained
If you are waiting for a phone call from Mr Hands in new Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, but it's not coming, we have some tips that may help you move on with the game's plot.
Even though the latest DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 was well received by both critics and players, Phantom Liberty is far from flawless, especially when it comes to technical aspect of the game. There are a lot of minor and major problems that will most likely be consequently fixed in the following days and weeks. Some of them though can be showstopping, like for example one of the key characters, Mr Hands, not calling. If you are still waiting for him to contact you but nothing is happening, we have gathered some information that may be useful for you.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Mr Hands is not calling, phone bug explained
Mr Hands is an important character in Cyberpunk 2077 and especially its new DLC, Phantom Liberty. Situation when events are not triggered happened already in the past in this title and is connected with how the game perceives the passage of time. At some point, time flow in Cyberpunk can randomly glitch out and just stop progressing. As you can imagine, it can happen not only with Mr Hands but also during other missions like, for example, Firestarter or Birds With Broken Wings.
If you are one of the unlucky players who have experienced this, there are some steps you can try:
- First thing to attempt is to save the game, restart it, and then load the save,
- If that doesn’t cut it, fast travelling to an apartment and sleeping may be another thing that can possibly help,
- Finally, trying to reload an older save game is the last resort you can turn to.
Unfortunately, neither of those methods are guaranteed to work, though it is worth trying.
As we have mentioned, players have reported that this can happen not only with phone call from Mr Hands, but also other time sensitive events in the game. As this bug was already present in the past, we can count on CD Projekt RED to solve it soon in a kind of a hotfix.
