Cyberpunk 2077 Ratings Dropping on Steam; Players Want a Meaningful Patch

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting worse and worse ratings from Steam users. We can clearly see the disappointment of players with subsequent updates.

Gamers are slowly starting to lose patience with Cyberpunk 2077, as can be concluded by analyzing the changes in the game's ratings posted on Steam.

While the overall average has remained at 78% positive reviews since the end of last year, it is only 70% if we consider only the ratings given in the last 30 days. Just last week it was 73%, so the downward trend is clear.

A score of 70% means that Steam still categorizes the game's reception over the last 30 days as "mostly positive," but when it drops below that (which seems a matter of time) it will shift to "mixed." It's also worth noting that the last month's ratings on the website are worse than the average rating (7.1) given to CP2077 by Metacritic users.

When analyzing Steam charts, it is worth noting, that the highest number of negative reviews was given on January 24, that is right after the lunch of patch 1.1. This update was announced as one of the two major ones, which are supposed to fix many of Cyberpunk 2077's biggest issues. The players therefore pinned great hopes on it, which were not met. The number of fixes turned out to be limited, and what's worse, the patch introduced new flaws. No wonder Steam was flooded with negative reviews from disappointed users.

Considering the game's condition, its average ratings aren't bad, but it's clear that the players are slowly growing weary of Cyberpunk 2077's unfixed problems. The game badly needs a major patch that will be more than just another hotfix, as users' patience is running out. Many fans are trying to rely on mods (such as CyberEngineTweaks or Heavily Customized Optimization), but these will not replace official patches.
