Dead Island 2 Rumored to Launch in a Few Months

Interesting rumors have surfaced online, suggesting that Dead Island 2 might debut in just a few months.

We've been waiting so long for Dead Island 2 that many people have given up hope that the game will ever be released. However, fresh rumors suggest that the work is already near completion.

  1. According to new reports, the game may debut in September or October, this year.
  2. The source of this information is Colin Moriarty, who revealed it in a new episode of the Sacred Symbols podcast.
  3. He claims Dead Island 2 is expected to be re-announced soon (the game has undergone major changes since we last saw it), with a release date not far off.
  4. Moriarty has a pretty good reputation, so these are not the words of a random internet user. Theinsider has previously repeatedly passed on rumors that turned out true. For example - in February 2020 he reported that Insomniac Games is working on a new installment of Ratchet & Clank. Four months later the project was officially announced.

It's worth mentioning that until now we expected the release next year. Two months ago Embracer Group (owner of Deep Silver, the game's publisher) suggested that Dead Island 2 will be released before the end of the current fiscal year, that is until March 31, 2023.

It should also be mentioned that Tom Henderson, another proven leaker, recently suggested a release in the fourth quarter of this year.

In any case, it seems that work on Dead Island 2 is slowly coming to an end. The project's development cycle was extremely bumpy. The game was announced eight years ago and since then three developers have worked on the title. First, Yager Development was replaced by Sumo Digital, and then the project was taken over by Dambuster Studios, the team known for Homefront: The Revolution.
