Death Stranding 2 Launch in 2024? Visual Artist Spilled the Beans

Thanks to information shared by an artist working for Playstation Studios Visual Arts, we know the possible release date for Death Stranding 2, as well as three other excitingly promising titles.

We first officially heard about Death Stranding 2 during this year's The Game Awards. Although during the game's presentation Hideo Kojima decided not to reveal the planned release date, one of the artists who assisted the studio decided to reveal the secret.

Death Stranding 2 in 2024?

The information was made public on ArtStation. Frank Aliberti, until recently working (via Linkedin) as a senior artist at Playstation Studios Visual Arts, has added to his portfolio the game titles he worked on for the Japanese corporation. We're talking about Death Stranding 2, Firewall Ultra and two as yet untitled shooters dedicated to the PlayStation 5 console. The information shared by Aliberti, in addition to the title and the game's cover art, also includes a possible release date for each title.

For this reason Death Stranding 2 was quickly removed from the artist's profile, but resettera users managed to take a screen shot before this happened. Thanks to this, we know that Hideo's new game is likely to debut on the market in 2024, which is five years after the release of the first part (for the PS4 console, the PC version came out the following year).

The alleged release date seems very likely when we look at the time difference, between the first announcement and the release date of the first part of DS - 3 years, which is the same as the difference between the announcement and the supposed release date (for 2024) of Death Stranding 2.

First VR 2 exclusive and unknown shooters

The developer also has three other curiosity-inducing upcoming games in his portfolio. Firewall Ultra is to be the second installment in the series (after Firewall: Zero Hour), developed with virtual reality goggles in mind. The title is expected to debut in 2023, which is at the same time as the launch of PlayStation VR 2, which is due to be released on February 22, next year.

The biggest mystery remains the two games hiding under the banner of "upcoming first-person shooter" and "upcoming cooperative third-person shooter." According to the description on Linkedin, both are supposed to be "triple A" (read: high-budget) titles. Perhaps these are game being made by one of Sony's newly acquired development studios.
