Diablo 4 Lost A Designer

David Kim is no longer working on Diablo IV, although he remains an employee of Blizzard Entertainment. The designer has been promoted and will support the team responsible for World of Warcraft.

Bad things are happening at Blizzard. Studio veterans are leaving to work on their own projects, the company's branch in France has been closed and the much-awaited WoW expansion didn't show up in stores on the original date. However, Shadowlands have already been given a new release date, and David Kim, the developer so far working on Diablo IV, will aid in the launch.

For 13 years he has worked with the company on StarCraft 2 and its expansions, as well as on Heroes of the Storm. The issue of transfer to another team was made public by Reddit users, who followed the changes in Kim's LinkedIn account. The veteran of the studio was promoted to main game designer and started working on the well-known MMO two months ago.

Although it means that Warcraft is in good hands, the situation of the new Diablo is puzzling. Has Kim, who held an important position in the team, already done so much work that someone else could finish it? The game is unlikely to be at such an advanced stage of development. In that case, will the experienced designer return to the title? Or maybe Blizzard has already found an equally talented candidate to take his place?
