Diablo 4 - Stronghold Bug and Reset Explained

In this guide we will talk about stronghold bugs in Diablo 4. There are a few of them.

Diablo 4 is a big hit among fans of hack and slash games. The title was warmly received by reviewers and players. Despite a good opinion on gameplay, many fans are not thrilled about the bugs and technical issues. Some persists even today. Problems with strongholds are a good example of that. However, they are not always bugs. Let’s talk about them.

Stronghold bug

There are a few bugs connected to strongholds in Diablo 4:

  1. Their icons are invisible on the map.
  2. Strongholds reset themselves and they are overflown with monsters even after defeating all enemies.
  3. Strongholds are not counted among completed.
  4. Problems seem to appear very often at Alcarnus stronghold.

There are also other bugs, however, they are rarer and mostly connected with specific locations.

How to fix stronghold bugs

First of all, if the terrain is full of enemies, even if you killed them, it may not be a bug. After completing a stronghold, you have to ring a bell at Wonderer’s Shrine. If you team up with other players, all of them have to do it. Thanks to that area will become safe again.

In the case of missing icons and some other glitches (like falsely uncompleted strongholds), relog is sometimes enough. Try to do it within the terrain of a stronghold. Of course, it may be necessary to clear area once again.

Playing with friends also may cause glitches. Many fans report that problems with strongholds appeared after they completed them with other players.

Sadly, some bugs may persist regardless of our efforts. At the moment, other methods of dealing with stronghold problems are unknown. We have to wait for the patch.
