Dying Light 2 is to Offer Incredibly Complex World and Rich Narrative

Dying Light 2 will delight us with details and world creation. At least that's what the developers promised during the latest episode of Dying 2 Know.

Techland has released another video from the Dying 2 Know series. The latest episode focuses on the characters and small details that give the world of Dying Light 2 its unique charm. In this episode, players could learn more about the game's post-apocalyptic setting and what life is like in The City.

Thomas Gerbaud, who is responsible for the world design, assures that the inhabitants are "a result of the reality around them" and represent a vision of humanity after a global catastrophe, anarchy, and the collapse of civilization. The developer noted that thanks to this, the characters we encounter will be believable. The game will also feature a number of new environments to make the virtual reality of Dying Light 2 feel more complex and real. These may be various types of notes, graffiti, or overheard conversations.

"In our world, the fall of civilization happened 15 years ago, so people have gotten the time to, sort of, used to it. You know, that is what people do - they get used to everything. So, they are no longer surviving. They are trying to live. They are just humans in extreme situation. A good example of that is Rahim, a guy in Old Villedor, who created the analogue version of dating app," said Thomas Gerbaud.

A lot of attention has been paid to the Peacekeepers, who are supposed to be a central part of the game world. They are skilled soldiers, trying to bring order to the streets. As we learned from the video, they chose an abandoned cargo ship called "Missy" as their headquarters.

The release of Dying Light 2: Stay Human is scheduled for February 4, 2022. The game will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, as well as on Windows PC. It will also be playable on Nintendo Switch via streaming.
