Elden Ring with another Game of the Year 2022 award. This time FromSoftware's work was awarded at the Game Developer Choice Awards gala.
The title of Game of the Year 2022 once again went into the hands of the creators of Elden Ring. This time the developers at fromSoftware were awarded the highest honor at the 23rd Game Developer Choice Awards gala, which took place in San Francisco.
FromSoftware's latest "child" also proved victorious in two other categories: visuals and game design.
Three statuettes were claimed by the game's biggest competitor, God of War Ragnarok, which won in the categories of best sound design, best technology and audience award.
During this year's Game Developer Choice Awards industry legends John Romero and Mabel Addis were also honored.
Romero is the co-founder of id Software and a pioneer of first-person shooters. The late Addis, on the other hand, was one of the first women active in our industry, and her creation - The Sumerian Game - is considered one of the pioneering - if not the very first - video games in history that had a clearly outlined narrative.
Elden Ring is the absolute ruler of 2022 in the video game industry. FromSoftware's work has won almost every prestigious award, including at the DICE Awards or The Game Awards.
