We got to know the games nominated for the gamescom awards 2020. The winners of some of them will be announced today during the opening ceremony. The others will be announced on Sunday, August 30, the day the event ends.
The gamescom fair is not only about the exciting presentations of upcoming games and announcements about the future of games already known. The temperature is also raised by gamescom awards, i.e. prizes awarded to the best titles present at the event. The organisers of the event have already published a list of titles that have a chance to receive the awards in seventeen categories this year.

The lovers of CD Projekt RED's game will surely be pleased that six nominations, i.e. the most of all games with a chance of winning the statuettes, were won by Cyberpunk 2077. The long-awaited work of the Polish team may be awarded as the best RPG and the most original title, among others. More than one laurels can also go to such games as Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, The Medium, Tell Me Why, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 or Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

The first lucky winners will receive their prizes today during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2020. Broadcast of this event will start at 11 AM PT. The remaining winners will be announced on the day of the end of the fair, i.e. on Sunday, August 30, during the Best Of Show gala, which will also start at 11 AM PT.
In addition, on August 30, prizes will be awarded in several additional categories. A special jury composed of German trade journalists, youtubers and other experts will choose the best presentation, the best announcement, the company with the best publishing catalogue, the best trailer and the best game of the fair. It will also select the winner of the so-called Heart of Gaming award for the most noteworthy game, add-on, technology, organization or personality present at the fair.
Also the audience will give its own award. Internet users will be able to choose the best show, the best streamer and the most awaited game of the fair. The voting will start today and end on August 29 at 6 AM PT. Additional details can be found here.
