Seven years of waiting, and we’re finally back in the saddle! Most reviews (including ours) agree, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a potential 2025 GOTY winner. A detailed tech review reveals excellent optimization, though with some occasional bugs. So, there’s nothing left to do but enjoy the game, right? Well, not quite, there’s always something, like audio problems or WHGame.dll error. Some folks are also wondering if HDR is supported and how to improve the ultrawide FOV. This time, PC players are also facing controller issues, but fortunately, there’s a simple fix.

How to fix controller not working in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

While Xbox controller users don’t seem to have any issues with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, PlayStation, Switch, and other gamepads aren't working for some reason. According to the game's Steam page, it fully supports:

  1. All Xbox controllers
  2. DualSense controllers
  3. DualShock controllers - but only if they are plugged into your PC.

So, if you’re using PlayStation 4 gamepad, you need a wired connection. If it still doesn’t work, the next step is to disable the Steam Input. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to ‘Library’ in your Steam App.
  2. Right-click on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and select ‘Properties’.
  3. Go to the ‘Controller’ tab and select ‘Disable Steam Input’.
  4. Relaunch Steam App and open the game.

If you’re still having trouble, some players have reported success by launching the game in Big Picture mode and then turning off the setting.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
