How to get Clay in Grounded 2. It’s easy when you know where to look

I prefer exploration, but it can’t be denied that an important part of Grounded 2’s gameplay is building. While you can live without a proper house, you need to assemble various workstations to survive, be able to defeat bigger opponents and gather rarer resources. After a couple of hours, you will become in dire need of Clay, mainly to craft Cookery, Spinning Wheel and some Foundations for your house. So, it’s time to look for this resource.

How to find Clay in Grounded 2

Before you even go looking for Clay, you need to upgrade your Omni-Tool. You need to add to your collection a Shovel first, as it is the only tool capable of gathering this resource. You can do that at Ranger Station. It is not very expensive, so you should not have problems with that.

The next step it to locate the closest body of water. While Clay can be found in other places, too (for example I have seen it nearby anthills), water is your best friend. There are a few ponds in the vicinity of the starting location. So, you should not have any issues with finding them. However, if you do, here is a map of places where Clay can be seen:

Once there, look for the orange/red rocks. Next, go near them and start digging. Keep in mind that this resource is sometimes almost fully submerged in the water, so it may not be very visible.
