PlayStation and Other Sony Products Pulled From Sale in Russia

Sony is the latest console giant to limit or suspend sales of its products in Russia amid the war in Ukraine.

Sony has joined Microsoft, Nintendo and many other companies moving out of Russia. After having silently pulled Gran Turismo 7 from the Russian PlayStation Store. Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that it has suspended hardware and software sales and all of its operations in the Russian Federation as part of an appeal to restore peace in Ukraine.

In a statement (via CNBC) the company also announced a $2 million donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the humanitarian organization Save the Children.

Sony is one of the last giants of the gaming industry that has suspended or curtailed operations in the wake of the war in Ukraine. Microsoft made this decision as early as March 4, and Nintendo did so on March 5.

Nintendo also pulls out from Russia

Until today Russian store of the big "N" formally remained in "temporary maintenance," but the company confirmed that it had suspended all deliveries to Russia "for the foreseeable future." Ukraine was not mentioned - "significant instability in logistics and distribution of physical goods" was cited as the reason (via Reuters).

Nintendo has also postponed the release of Advance Wars 1 2: Re-Boot Camp without announcing a new date.
