PS5s Differ in Noise Volume Depending on Installed Fan

The editors of French website Les Numeriques have put several PlayStation 5 consoles together and discovered that some PS5 sub-models are equipped with a different, slightly louder fan.

French website Les Numeriques reports that not all PlayStation 5 consoles have exactly the same cooling (via TweakTown). The editors have discovered that there are two types of fans on the consoles, which differ in design and, unfortunately, the level of noise they generate. Type A is quieter (39 dBA) and Type B is slightly louder (43 dBA, so the difference is not great).

There may be other fan variants available in PS5 units available on the market. It is worth remembering that in the device that was dismantled in official Sony material, this element of the cooling system looked even more different - below the picture for reminder.

We would like to remind that the PS5 console officially launched on November 12 in the Pacific region and on 19 in Europe. Unfortunately, in practice, the device is very difficult to get.
