Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Premiere Date Announced

Sonic the Hedgehog movie will receive a sequel. It will appear on cinema screens on April 8, 2022.

Paramount studio shared the first teaser of the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog. The short teaser doesn't reveal too many details except for the release date. The movie will debut on cinema screens on April 8, 2022.

Images shown in the video confirm that the sequel will also feature Tails, Sonic's friend, who appeared in the first part in a post-credits scene. Whether the main villain will once again be Doctor Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey, or whether an entirely new character will enter the fray remains a mystery.

The first film, despite initial turbulence, managed to be a financial success, which opened the door for a sequel.

The first part went a long way before it was positively evaluated by the audience. The movie's first trailer took a lot of flak, and the main object of criticism became the appearance of the title character. The creators rehabilitated themselves and then showed a trailer with reworked Sonic, which this time received widespread approval. The change was risky and the filmmakers had to pay a lot of additional costs, but it paid off, because the film with a budget of about 85 million dollars earned almost four times as much.

Sonic the Headgehog premiered on February 14, 2020 in the United States, debuting just before the cinemas were closed by the COVID-19 outbreak and, as a result, became the sixth best movie in terms of revenue in 2020.
