Marvel's Spider-Man from 2018 turned out to be quite a success. The superhero game from Insomniac Games sold more than 20 million copies. The title's popularity certainly translated into interest in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which in turn resulted in the latter's very good sales. As Sony boasted during its conference call to wrap up the third fiscal quarter of 2020, 4.1 million copies of the title had found owners by December 31, just over a month after the game's release (via Gematsu).
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The work of Insomniac Games was one of the launch titles for Sony's newest console, which at the end of the year reached 4.5 million units shipped to stores. We can safely assume that this was another of the elements that influenced the game's market success.
