Teardown is a Thief Simulator With Minecraft-like Mechanics

Tuxedo Labs, the developers of Teardown, presented a new gameplay from this production. The material was recorded during tests of the sound system using path tracing technology.

Teardown - a new variation on Minecraft.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Teardown is a game, in which we play the role of a burglar;
  2. The title will offer a fully destructible environment through the use of voxel graphics;
  3. The creator of the project presented a new gameplay from his work.

Tuxedo Labs, the creators of Teardown, a game that may in some ways compete with the popular Minecraft, presented a new gameplay from their work. The material was recorded while testing the sound system, which - interestingly - will use path tracing technology.

Admittedly, Teardown looks really nice. The game will be based on quite interesting premise - the player's goal is to execute a successful burglary (i.e. steal some stuff and then escape safely). So where does the Minecraft part come from? When performing the task we will be able to destroy the world around us and build a variety of objects. The game is supposed to offer enormous freedom in shaping the environment - all thanks to the use of graphics based on voxels.

The title was announced in October last year and made quite a noise. Teardown will hit PC later this year (as part of early access).
