Trailer of Nolan's New Movie Premiers in Fortnite

The premiere screening of a trailer for Christopher Nolan's Tenet took on an unusual form. Trailer debuted on a virtual screen in Fortnite.

A new trailer for Tenet, another production directed by Christopher Nolan, has been released. The movie's world premiere is still planned for July 15. However, this date may be delayed due to the novel coronavirus. It is worth noting that the date does not appear on the trailer. It emphasizes, however, the fact that the project will make its debut in cinemas and not in VOD services.

The trailer looks intriguing, but the way it was revealed was equally interesting. The video was first shown in Fortnite. It is displayed on the main stage in Party Royale, a combat-free gameplay mode that has recently been added to the hit of Epic Games.

Making the trailer available in this way may be surprising for a Christopher Nolan film. It turns out that it wasn't an invention of Warner Bros' marketing department. The idea was born during the director's phone conversation with Donald Mustard from Epic Games. They both miss watching trailers in cinemas, which is currently impossible because of coronavirus situation. So it was decided that a good alternative would be to show the video on a virtual screen in Fortnite.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first collaboration of this kind. In December last year, Epic Games' shooters offered a preview of a fragment of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Last month, Fortnite hosted a virtual concert of rapper Travis Scott.
