V Rising: Invaders of Oakveil launches later this month

This morning, the second annual Triple-i showcase premiered, and gave fans of V Rising an update on the open-world vampire RPG. Referred to as 1.1, the Invaders of Oakveil update launches later this month. A new trailer showcased new enemies arriving in the game, led by a new threat: the Serpent Queen. This will be a free update to the popular indie title, and no doubt will keep players occupied with new challenges, activities, and updates.

V Rising, from developer Stunlock Studios, left early access on Steam just under a year ago. The game found a huge audience for an indie game and currently has 92 thousand player reviews on Steam with an 89% positive score. You wake up a vampire and must survive by building your castle, making allies, hunting for blood, and exploring an ever-changing open world. Over the last year, there have been several notable updates including a collaboration with Castlevania.

The Invaders of Oakveil update, also known as the 1.1 update, arrives on April 28th, just two and a half weeks away. Not only will this introduce a new faction in the Serpent Queen Megara and her loyal Venomblades, but it will include other changes as well. As the name suggests, this update will introduce a new area to explore: the Oakveil Woodlands. In a post on Steam, developer Stunlock Studios promises updates to Blood Types, combat mechanics, castle features, cosmetics, and more. Along with three new weapons and seven new spells.

This update will also introduce Castle Arenas and Duels. With Castle Arenas, players will be able to build their own custom Arena within their castle. Set up rules, be it 1v1, 2v2, or 4v4, and defeat the opposition before a circle of death closes in on you. Duels, on the other hand, can be found anywhere in the world. These are risk-free one-on-one battles designed to test builds and, of course, establish supremacy.

V Rising continues to keep its active fans happy with free updates. While the game is far from its peak player count from launch, there are still several thousands of players active in this game on Steam at any given time, according to SteamDB. With a major update on the way, this healthy player base will likely grow again.
