Resident Evil 2: How to open a switch box at the police station (Leon)?

During your first visit to the police station in Resident Evil 2 you will probably notice a sealed box on one of the walls of the main room. On this page of the guide we explain how to open this box and use the switch.

As already mentioned, the sealed box is in the main hall of the police station (Main Hall). Initially you can only see it.

You have to do a few steps, so that the main character comes into possession of a knife. Visit the eastern corridors and rooms adjacent to the main hall. When you return to it, you'll see a scene during which you meet Marvin Branagh. He will give Leon a knife.

You can already return to the box and use a knife to cut the tapes.

Pulling the switch will lift the grille on the left side. This will give you the opportunity to inspect the new premises in the western part of the police station.
