Resident Evil 2: What's the 2nd Run mode?

2nd Run is the only way to unlock the real ending.

The New Game "2nd Run" in Resident Evil 2 you will unlock when the story is completed by one of the heroes: you will always unlock the "second approach" for the other hero (i.e. if you complete the story as Leon, you will unlock the 2nd Run for Claire and vice versa). In the "second approach" the difficulty level of the game increases significantly: you can still choose from three difficulty levels, but the base level of the game is already increased. The changes in this mode:

1. The beginning of the game - some threads are changed, some omitted - thanks to that you start the right adventure faster.
2. The general outline of the plot remains unchanged, just like the locations visited;
3. Some puzzles are modified - codes and ciphers remain unchanged, but puzzles (e.g. voltage regulation, liquid overflow in the Socket or chess in the Canals) are a bit more difficult.
4. The hero receives a different starting weapon.
5. The layout of objects on the map is slightly modified (secrets are easier to access to unlock upgrades and new weapons faster).
6. From the beginning of the game at the Post, you are followed by the Tyrant.
7. You will find much less ammunition and remedies on the map - save ammunition to fight against bosses.
8. Completion of the mode of the new game "2nd Run" unlocks: the real ending of the game, new mode Fourth Survivor (4th Survivor).
