Choosing this passageway will result in starting the exploration of the cathedral on the lower level. It's not a good idea, because you won't be allowed to collect several items from the upper level.
Choosing this passageway will result in starting the exploration of the cathedral on the upper level. It's a much better option, because you will have an opportunity to collect all items from the cathedral.
You will begin exploring the cathedral here if you've chosen entrance 1 while exploring the courtyard.

If you've chosen the first starting point then you must hit the bell and avoid enemies that will inspect this area. If you've chosen the second starting point then you can use the lever to unlock access to an optional room.
Lever used to call the elevator. Pulling the lever is one of two ways of reaching the bottom of the pit.
A rope that Garrett can interact with. Using the rope will allow the main character to slide down and to land on the roof of the elevator and it's one of two ways of reaching the bottom of the pit.

The above map presents three starting points of the seventh chapter, i.e. the yard, and two cathedral levels (upper and lower). I recommend that you acquaint yourself with the markings on the map, in order to single out the best way to access the cathedral and not get lost in the process of exploration.
