One of the enemies is using a torch to light the area

Soon after you walk into the ceremonial hall [Northcrest Manor - Ceremony Room], there will appear two more bandits around. I recommend against ignoring this threat, because one of the enemies is using a torch and, apart from that, it is much more difficult, than it is usually the case, to tell the difference between the spots where you remain in hiding and where you do not. Of course, you can try to rob the opponents, thanks to which you will obtain two Coin Purses - 9+12G. Apart from that, on the bottom level of the ceremonial hall, there is a Poppy.

The switch that unlocks access to the lab

If you have taken one of the passages on the upper floor, then things will be a bit easier, because you will e above the opponents then, which will allow you to plan on the further steps to take more carefully. It is worthwhile, after all, to explore all of the nearby scaffoldings, because you will, this way, reach a small area, on the manor's first floor, where there is an Urn - 35G. The secret passage to the Baron's lab is in the South-Western part of the ceremonial hall - you need to locate an interactive switch and press it [Northcrest Manor - Secret Passage].
